I just found this site today. Well that’s my Saturday sorted.

Be careful which dresses you buy. The Jersey ones bobble and look cheap quickly.
The waffle material holds up better.( imo)

KittenKong · 05/02/2022 08:26

Have you bought from them? I was hoping for a thick cotton type or jersey (boo).

Hate the cardigan but the jumpsuits looked rather promising - thanks for the warning on the quality.

nordica · 05/02/2022 08:52

They all look nice but the materials are all synthetic, this cardigan for example is 100% acrylic. Run & Fly also sells some similar knitwear but also acrylic. I had one of their jumpers and it bobbled horribly.

If you like fun prints in bright colours but prefer good quality cotton then I recommend Scandi brands like Duns and Maxomorra.

Obviously I know many people won't mind the synthetic fibres and the Popsy stuff seems to have a huge following on FB so you might be fine with it anyway. 🙂

LemonViolet · 05/02/2022 08:58

Yes! I do like the “stylish overgrown toddler” look (that is meant genuinely not facetiously).

The culotte jumpsuits seem a more grown up interpretation, what do you wear on your feet with them though? I only usually wear trainers or one pair of flat boots that I don’t think would work. Maybe flip flops?

Wow that’s bright! Plain black flats with that!

They bobble!! And the fabric is a bit thin.

Just had a look at Duns and it’s twice the price though.

This is the type of thing I like. Where is a good male?

The Popsy dress cut looks dreadful on me, I'm 5.8 and big boobs - the cuts definitely designed for someone shorter and with less up top.

DockOTheBay · 05/02/2022 09:54

Wait for sales on Duns, the adults stuff usually goes down by about 50% somewhere. Also lasts well and has a good resale value.

endlesscraziness · 05/02/2022 09:57

Joanie are pretty good and have started doing non synthetic fabrics

LivingDeadGirlUK · 05/02/2022 10:51

I've heard the popsy stuff is terrible quality. I've some cotton run and fly tshirts that have washed really well and are nice and thick. Also check out Thunder Egg's own brand stuff.

notacooldad · 05/02/2022 17:04

Yes I bought a load but have sold most of them.
My favourite was a Jersey one in a strawberry print but it bubbled to bits. It had to be ditched.
I have an autumn leaves one in the waffle fabric which is great.
I did but a few wrap rounds ut they made my hips look even bigger than they are.
There was a lot if hype and excitement at the beginning of first lockdown and people getting stressed over dresses being released at 12 o'clock on fridays but thankfully that nonsense has calmed down now people are at work.

My honest opinion is they are not great value for money and theres better options.

teawamutu · 05/02/2022 17:09

Duns kids' sizes are ridiculously massive. I'm a size 10 and can comfortably wear their age 10-12, which is half the price of adult gear.

QueenOfCakeandCoffee · 10/02/2022 13:43

I just received my first order on the back of this post, I love the colours and fun! I wish there was more cotton/natural fibres too but i’m willing to give them a go.

notacooldad · 10/02/2022 14:14

QueenOfCakeandCoffee
I would say if you want longevity from your dresses, especially if they are Jersey, wash them on a gentle wash inside out.
All my jersey ones bubbled like mad. I got one season out of them so not good value for me as I like my clothes to last.
My dresses from Pretty Kitten and Joanie for similar prices have lasted ages!!

KirstenBlest · 10/02/2022 14:28

I love the overgrown toddler look but Popsy's not for me

QueenOfCakeandCoffee · 10/02/2022 15:15

Why even bother read the thread if it’s not for you @KirstenBlest your opinion is so unnecessary

KirstenBlest · 10/02/2022 17:02

@QueenOfCakeandCoffee, did you mean to be so rude?

I read the thread because I like colourful clothes like Lucy & Yak, and Run & Fly. I had a look at the Popsy site and didn't like the look or composition of what they sell, but you seem to think I' shouldn't express my opinion

QueenOfCakeandCoffee · 10/02/2022 18:49

@KirstenBlest I completely misread your post! I thought you’d come on to the thread and then posted putting down grown up toddler / bright clothes!
I’m sorry for the misunderstanding

Invasionofthegutsnatchers · 10/02/2022 18:51

Popsy dresses have nice prints but sweaty polyester so ice only got one.

TerribleCustomerCervix · 10/02/2022 18:53

Joanie has a similar vibe but slightly more grown up.

I’ve bought a load from them and can’t fault the quality.

Don’t buy full price though- they have 20-25% off most pay weekends!

DisforDarkChocolate · 10/02/2022 18:54

I like Popsy, fun and affordable.

KirstenBlest · 10/02/2022 18:58

Thanks for the apology @QueenOfCakeandCoffee. It sounded so promising but the clothes didn't appeal

I was expecting something along the lines of the Lady Di sheep jumper but a cardi with foxes , not acrylic
