Body Shop products that are better than anything else you've tried

A neighbour's daughter has started doing Body Shop at home and I would like to support her.
I've always enjoyed Body Shop products when I've been given them as gifts but it's not somewhere I've ever bought my cosmetics & toiletries from.

Please let me know what products you only ever buy from the BS and think are better than other brands.

If you are a BS consultant, please be honest and say so, and let me me know what products are most popular with your customers for repeat purchase.

Oh and I've only ever used their toiletries, am not familiar with their makeup at all.
I am on the continued search for a concealer that actually works on my dark under eye shadows, are their concealers - are theirs any good? And I don't have a preferred foundation, is theirs worth trying?

Thank you

Sorry OP Thanks you are getting a tough time and only asked a simple question.

I rarely shop there but a friend gave me the moringa body yogurt three weeks ago, which applied after a shower when your skin is damp is amazing. My skin feels as though it's 20 years younger and I haven't even exfoliated it. It smells fabulous.

Also recommend the ginger dandruff shampoo. But I do question BS prices. It's £11 for the body yogurt which I think is too much.

@leafcuttingwhale

Their stuff is not that great and after they publicly accused, and in a mocking way, JK Rowling for talking about male violence, her personal experiences of male violence, and the need for basic safeguarding to protect women from it, I'll never touch their stuff again.
This ^. It was appalling.
Bluesparkled · 02/02/2022 18:53

I came in to say that I like their Vitamin C moisturiser but the ginger shampoo made my head hurt- I wasn’t aware of the issues raised and am thankful I found out. I have looked into it and unfortunately won’t shop there again.

My best friend just escaped this horrific MLM.

Please don't "support her". However we'll meaning.

It's a horrid, evil scheme that takes advantage of people and costs them huge amounts of time & money.
Let BS sell their own products by actually paying people a salary and giving them employment rights.

Audreyhelp · 02/02/2022 20:22

I love their hemp cream the Aldi one isn’t the same . I used to use the mascara which is great .

DSGR · 02/02/2022 20:33

I love all their shower gels, the body butters and lip balm. Their make up brushes are great and I buy teen DS the make up as it doesn’t give her allergies

LivingDeadGirlUK · 02/02/2022 20:35

Its not going to help your neighbour much by buying from her though is it? MLM relies on the pity purchases. I used to do this to OP, thought I was helping out a mate but then her husband told me how much work she was putting in to earn bugger all and now I do not buy any mlm product at all. If everyone stopped buying it they would have to rethink the business model.

Lets support women to have fair employment and not be exploited as commision only sales reps!

catfunk · 02/02/2022 21:03

Please don't encourage your neighbours daughter to be sucked in by an MLM.
How much has she spent on the kit so far?

TallulahTumeric · 02/02/2022 22:42

I've just left the Body Shop after 18 months. I didn't know about the JKR stuff. I wish I had known.

I'd suggest she thinks long and hard about joining. It is a MLM and you easily get swept up in trying to achieve incentives. Started off great, but I've lost money and trying to get more sales to claw it back became a vicious circle. I've got a shitload of stock I can't get rid of and debts to pay. Wish I hadn't bothered.

Can't fault their products although they're pricing themselves out of the market now.

SynchroSwimmer · 03/02/2022 20:59

For body-butter dupes I quite rate the N-Spa (Nirvana Spa?) body butters stocked by Asda.

The empty containers also make brilliant holiday travel pots for small items in my luggage

Wavypurple · 03/02/2022 21:01

I hate to be that person and I don’t mean this in a ‘holier than thou’ way but body shop at home is essentially a MLM and your friend may as well burn £50 notes.

Better off not supporting at all to be honest otherwise you’ll be expected to buy something every time a new catalogue/party comes around.

Speaking from experience.

Wavypurple · 03/02/2022 21:02

Sorry, cross post with poster above. Need to start reading the thread before posting 🤦🏼‍♀️

BringMeTea · 03/02/2022 21:16

Yes the Asda N-spa stuff is as good. Would never buy from BS or
(S)Lush.

Slidey23 · 03/02/2022 23:24

I love the body butters but won’t pay the current prices (£18)! I got 4 tubs with the old packaging for £5 each in the Christmas sale. I think the prices are really inflated these days.

Honeyroar · 04/02/2022 08:00

They have a lot of good sales though- I just buy them then. Plus their discount vouchers seem to accumulate regularly. It’s rare to pay full price.

BCBird · 19/11/2022 17:52

Agree a out the hemp hand cream. It's fantastic

SisterGeorgeMichael · 20/11/2022 14:04

You had a real good long think about it before you posted!
