Microbladed brow laser removal - having a wobble!

I'm booked in for laser treatment tomorrow morning to remove old microbladed brows... and I'm having a wobble, cos LASERS (and the healing afterwards)! Anyone had this done before and can tell me about their experience?

I had mine done, I needed 3 treatments to get it pale enough to get then redone.
It was quite painful but it is over so so quick, I promise! She completely whizzed over them. I had absolutely no down time or healing at all, it did dye some hairs white but she just retinted them.

So really not that bad - good luck!!

Don’t people research things before they think about booking them ? I know what a crazy idea

@thickthighs73 yes, I did look into it before booking but it suddenly seems slightly ridiculous to do it, and it suddenly seems I can live with the current brows….!

What's wrong with your current brows?

They’ve faded to shade that’s too warm (pink-ish). Can’t have them redone (and look good) without the pigment being removed.

Are you able to use something like the Maybelline eyebrow tattoo over it if they have faded???

I use make up on them daily… but they’re not waterproof!

Have you tried tinting them so the dye darkens the pigment?

My own eyebrows are super sparse (seriously) so there’s nothing really to tint.

I've just been looking at this. I literally HATE my brows now and would like to have them redone. I'm not worried about the pain, just what they will look like after. Mine have gone really blue 😫

I think it was about 5 weeks? That way the skin can regenerate itself. It made a really big difference straight away, im pleased I did it. I probably would've needed more than 3 sessions if I hadn't wanted to get new ones. Yes make up was fine - if they go really strong and make you bleed then you may not be able to, but I think this is rare.

@snowone mine were quite blue, even one session took the blue right out. They did almost go a bit yellow, but that is much easier to cover up with make up. The blueness is a big part of why I got it done, they just weren't fading even though it had been years! But I had two big patches which had faded completely so I just looked so odd

I am a microblading and PMU artist and I do colour correction and cover up work

I use a brand of pigments that can usually correct any discolouration

Are you absolutely sure you need laser removal?

Sorry if my message sounded rude 🙈 it's just I've successfully corrected so many dodgy coloured PMU / microbladed brows x

@Whiffle77 thank you for the advice. I think I might have a look at getting it done and then having them redone in a nicer shape and shade. I don't scar very well and swell easily but I'm sure they will know after a patch test if I will be okay

@ILoveHuskies Oh yes, I’m sure you see lots of dodgy work! I’ve had mine microbladed twice and, unfortunately, the second time, it didn’t heal very well (took ages) and then the final result wasn’t great. The strokes weren’t defined and kind of blurred and there was a little bit of patchiness too, so they aren’t entirely even. I don’t suit really heavy brows (as my own natural brows are v sparse) so it’s not possible to cover them up as there will be blurred stroke colour underneath. I'm actually looking at powder brows after this.

Sometimes microblading just doesn't last or even take as skin isn't suitable. I would estimate only 10% of the clients that come and ask for blading are suitable candidates

And yes I've seen some absolutely god awful work 😳🤯

Update: had it done yesterday and it was bearable. Because it’s pink, the laser was quite light (different frequencies for different colours). Straight away, it seemed to disappear but then came back and seemed darker. This morning, looks pretty much like how it was yesterday morning. Takes apparently 4-6 weeks to see a difference as the body absorbs the pigment fragments. Fingers crossed!

Was super quick. Spent more time filling in forms than having the treatment done. A couple of minutes overall.

Ahh brilliant glad it went well. Did it hurt ?

Hopefully it makes a difference to the colour! It felt like a rubber band flicking against the eyebrow area. I think the less invasive setting helped, and the fact that the colour isn't too heavy. No pain relief, just an ice pack afterwards. Felt normal by early evening really and I’m back to wearing make-up on them today. If the pink tinge leaves and there's still enough pigment to be passable (as more of a brow than my almost no-brow look when au naturel), I'm tempted to leave it for a bit before contemplating the powder brow.

Aww that's really great , I'm sure you will get great results . I'm thinking of training in removals myself as honestly some of the "work" that people have had done that come through my doors is shocking and I always feel awful that I can't help them 😔

As for Powder brows - they are brilliant. They're my favourite I think. The beauty of them is that they can be either very subtle or really defined. They can also look really natural if clients already have a little bit of brow hair. They're also generally the longest lasting option

I have been contemplating having my brows bladed, but to be honest the thought of blue or odd colour eyebrows when they fade is very off putting. I just assumed they faded and you would just have them gone over again.
