Microbladed brow laser removal - having a wobble!

WaterJunkie · 26/01/2022 17:13

I'm booked in for laser treatment tomorrow morning to remove old microbladed brows... and I'm having a wobble, cos LASERS (and the healing afterwards)! Anyone had this done before and can tell me about their experience?

@psuedocream3

I'm glad you had good results and it was quick and relatively pain free.

I have been contemplating having my brows bladed, but to be honest the thought of blue or odd colour eyebrows when they fade is very off putting. I just assumed they faded and you would just have them gone over again.

High quality pigments will not cause blue (or other dodgy coloured) brows. Ask what brand they use. Tina Davies, Permablend and Brow Daddy are IMO the best

And the same pigments can also in a lot of cases neutralise and cover previous work which has become discoloured

They are very expensive but well worth it. Unfortunately some artists cut corners by buying cheap shit inks off Amazon

Ah I don’t really have much brow hair to speak of, I think that’s always going to be the thing that prevents the most natural look with powder brows. The lady who did the laser suggested massaging it every day with a toothbrush to encourage growth, but I suspect those hair follicles are no longer v active there…

I’ll PM you to take a look at your work page.

I went to two different reputable PMUs for microblading and didn't manage to get a brilliant result. My brow hair is too sparse to make it look completely au naturel for one, but I think the main factor is my skin is too oily for microblading and the lines never appeared fine enough to be 100% realistic. In both cases, the colour was probably too warm compared with my hair colour, but then faded even warmer.

Although they're the wrong colour, I do quite like the shape so it's easy to sort them out with make-up. If I could go back in time, I would have opted for light powder brows though.

In terms of how they fade, sadly I think it's difficult to predict and I think microblading is a lot more invasive than powder brows. But the latter only works if you don't mind a make up look - even if it's a light make up look.

@WaterJunkie definitely find a really good ombré / powder brow artist and see if you can have this instead. My artist is amazing and she has moved away from microblading now because of the problems you’ve explained - a good result can’t be achieved with it forever unfortunately and it can go pink / blurry. Ombré is better as long as you find someone who’s good.

Yep I much prefer doing powder / ombré brows to microblading

As I say it is rare that clients are good microblading candidates and it only looks amazing on the most suitable clients. So I rarely do it

@ILoveHuskies any recommendations for someone in the north west, my mind just had hers micro bladed and they look ok but I’m not convinced enough to go to the same place and it seems like the powder are the way forward

octopusrus · 29/01/2022 11:49

WaterJunkie how are they today? I am considering getting mine removed as they are way too pink (done about 6 years ago Shock) and I don't want to necessarily get them redone - I just want them to disappear! Following your journey with interest!!

They don't look too different right now, if I'm honest! It's supposed to take 4-6 weeks. When it was first done, it just disappeared! But then quickly came back. On the upside, there has been no downtime. I'll keep you posted!

Can I ask how much it cost? I’m seriously thinking about doing the same, my eyebrows faded to an icky orange ish shade

SeasonFinale · 29/01/2022 16:24

Well now at least I know not to micro blade and it is not the save all method my beautician keeps trying to sell it to me as.

I hope you can find a good solution OP.

WaterJunkie · 29/01/2022 19:51

It was £70 for a single session. Can take multiple sessions to remove… just fyi!

Thank you for this thread !

I am not a make-up person but I do have rubbishy eyebrows and was considering last year to have microblading done when all the restrictions lifted .
I have had good ( not 100%) results with a good brow serum ( I prefer Revitabrow to UK Lash .) and a dye (Revolution 3 Day)

I was looking at some websites and most of the brows were quite heavy , I know its the fashion . I could ask for lighter /thinner .
But now this is something I hadn't even considered the fading and possible lasering off .

I am re-directing my money

Grasping · 29/01/2022 20:35

You need to find someone who’s really good.

I’ve had mine 3 years and they’re still the colour they were originally. If they go weird I will just have them topped up. I love them

Grasping · 29/01/2022 20:36

Sorry, that’s for the micro blading not laser.

Yep all my clients retain the colour they're supposed to have . Obviously it does fade over time but not into a weird colour 😂
ILoveHuskies · 31/01/2022 15:04

Yep microblading is absolutely not for everyone, honestly I cannot say this enough

Hi, how are you and your brows getting on? Smile
WaterJunkie · 27/02/2022 10:58

Hmmm, after feeling like they were fading, they now don't seem too much different. So I'm reserving judgement for the moment and will see where I'm at at the 6 week mark in mid-March. Just to add, I will say that my skin seems more heavily pigmented (i.e. hyperpigmentation issues are worse) at different times. Not sure exactly why, but it could be down to that... or not!
