What are Oasis & Warehouse like now online?

I used to buy so much from these 2 shops as the sizing & shapes fitted me well. When they first went online I ordered some bits but the quality wasn’t nearly as good so it put me off.
I keep getting discount vouchers & looking online there are some things I like the look of so I’m tempted to try again. I used to like some of their jeans but there are so many variations now on one style I have no idea which to go for.

Anyone else buy from either or these? What’s the quality been like? Are the jeans any good? I’m 5’3” size 12ish.

Wow i love the Love and Roses stuff! It looks like the little Oasis dresses and jumpers I loved!

Alwaystired99 · 25/01/2022 11:14

Thanks @lulla12345 , I've been missing a lot of Warehouse and Oasis dresses (I won't go near Boohoo) and the Love and Roses stuff looks like my sort of thing!

BusterGonad · 25/01/2022 13:29

Oasis were amazing up until about 2014 they then got a bit polyester centric. I was obsessed with their clothes for years. I'm liking the look of Love and Roses. Some really lovely prints.

DoubleGauze · 25/01/2022 13:41

@BusterGonad this vert true. Pretty much all of my work dresses were Oasis ones from 2009-2014 , really lovely shirts and biker jackets too. They had the best stripey dresses around!

BusterGonad · 25/01/2022 14:23

All my dresses and pretty tops were from there, I loved the Fit and Flare/skater dresses, all with lovely prints, I have moved on from them now though as my life doesn't really revolve around looking pretty, I spend all my time at home. I have recently purchased some very Oasis looking dresses from Mango, one with a ditsy flower print and one with larger flowers. Both viscose so imo that's good quality fabric as its practically impossible to get cotton these days. Thankfully I'm going somewhere this weekend to wear one! 😂

Which reminds me of my stripy dress with gold buttons featuring an anchor. The top bit was stripy and the bottom navy. It was a tight shift style which I usually wore over a jumper. It was my favourite dress. 😍

Thanks for the Love and Roses suggestion!

I find River Island helps fill the gap left by the previous incarnations of Oasis and Warehouse. Lots of polyester, but also viscose and some cotton. I used to think of them as a teen shop like Miss Selfridge etc, but actually I have bought bits for the office recently. And they are independently owned so far as I can tell.

Snorkmaidenn · 25/01/2022 15:58

Okay, similar brands to Oasis and Warehouse:-

Joy Clothing
Mango
Vero Moda
Esprit

Snorkmaidenn · 25/01/2022 16:02

Oh and
Nobody's Child

I'm not sure about quality, but have some nice pieces.

Littlemiss74 · 25/01/2022 17:16

Thank you @Snorkmaidenn i have bought from Mango before but not from the others so I’ll have a look at those.

@BusterGonad I know what you mean, I suppose I have changed too in the past couple of years as so much more time at home, I almost don’t feel the need to buy any nice clothes. But I’ve been feeling a bit down lately and don’t think slobbing around at home/wfh in my leggings and hoodies is doing me much good. It’s funny as when we first were told to wfh I thought it was amazing & my dream come true. But now, nearly 2 years on I’m kind of missing little things about pre-covid times & putting on nice clothes, doing my hair & make up nicely every day for work instead of just now & then are some of them. I’ve let myself go so am trying to work on improving my wardrobe to help myself feel a bit better. I’m just finding it really hard to know where to shop these days. Lots of shops round here have closed down so I need to do online really but then seem to spend most of the time sending things back as no good. I just want to find a couple of brands that I know work for me so I can stick with them just as Oasis & Warehouse used to. Really annoying that they’ve gone downhill.

Wow sorry, went off piste a bit there 😂

This explains a lot.
I was browsing through various sites on Saturday looking for a coat in the sales and Oasis and Warehouse just looked like really bad cheap tat.
Also agree that Mango have really upped their game.

BusterGonad · 25/01/2022 17:34

The brand that works for me now is Mango, I know roughly what size I need, I know that generally they cater for my large boobs, their quality seems good throughout and generally they are good for the money. I don't live in the UK so I haven't got much choice but they do post out to my country if its not in store. Its really hard to send back but so far it's all fit me! The best bit is they've just had an amazing sale too.

Littlemiss74 · 25/01/2022 17:54

@BusterGonad thanks Mango sounds like it could be a good alternative then - I have bought one or two things from there but not for a long time. How is their sizing? Is it all S, M, L etc rather than number sizes? I am a size 12 quite curvy & only 5’3” so find so many shops the trousers are way too long.
How about Zara as an alternative? Although I can never figure out what size I am there as it seems to differ greatly depending on the item of clothing which makes it hard ordering online..

Blimey I'm really not recognising some of this!Vero Moda is OK but not particularly good quality and whilst I love Mango it's not cut for big boobs! It's narrow cut like Zara as its also Spanish.

That’s what I thought about Mango… I used to live in Spain and struggled to buy from there as despite being slim I have huge boobs. Their sizing didn’t used to be generous in that area, I wonder if it was changed?
BusterGonad · 25/01/2022 20:30

Well for me I take an XL which is a 14, but if its slim fitting I need a XXL. I wear their Tshirts in a large as I like a slim fit but if its thick cotton without give I take a XL. In my wardrobe I have 3 brand new dresses all in a XL and I've recently purchased a slim fit shirt dress but had to go up to a XXL. My jeans are a 42/14, I'd consider myself a uk 16 generally so it works for me. My boobs are a FF to G. 🤔 Maybe I'm an enigma! 😂

BusterGonad · 25/01/2022 20:32

Zara doesn't work for me, I fit their XL which I believe is a 16, but nothing sits right, waist too high up, shoulders too square, it's not for me at all.

glasshalfsomething · 25/01/2022 20:55

Albaray at John Lewis is supposedly formed by part of the original Warehouse team. Their stuff is lovely but a bit pricey!

Alwaystired99 · 25/01/2022 21:20

@glasshalfsomething Ooh, I didn't know that about Warehouse and Albaray. I've just looked on John Lewis and can definitely see some old style Warehouse stuff.

PinkArt · 25/01/2022 23:58

I didn't know that @lulla12345 but it makes sense - I always loved Oasis for knitwear and love Love & Roses now.
OP, I found Oasis and Warehouse were both shocking just after the buyout but have had loads of jumpers I liked in the run up to Christmas. Quality isn't quite what it was before but much better than a year ago. Can't speak for their other products as I seem to just be in a big knitwear phase at the mo.

BusterGonad · 26/01/2022 05:21

I'm so glad that the Oasis and Warehouse team are still knocking around, I think they should advertise this as I'm sure there are a lot of us out there that would snap it all up.

Warehouser1 · 26/01/2022 21:14

Branster · 27/01/2022 22:36

Actually Mango have always had nice quality items, from very good leather boots to beautiful scarves.
They also have an online outlet (google Mango outlet and select your country). When I bought from there the items came from another country, possibly Spain, not sure what postage charges are like now. And I think the prices are converted because they are cheaper when sterling is stronger than Euro.
If you know your size in Mango, it's a great website. And their clothes keep really well.
I remember years ago I was very excited when they started trading in the UK.

BusterGonad · 28/01/2022 06:44

When you order on the Mango app they come from Spain, regardless of where you live, this gets them very bad press as the customers are not informed of this, once you know its okay. I wait about 3 weeks for my delivery's, but I'm not in Europe. I still only pay £5 for delivery or free if I spend over £50 which is amazing value as I'm in Africa!

OverByYer · 28/01/2022 06:52

These used to be my favourite high street shops, was gutted when they closed. Haven’t bought from them online as the stuff they have just doesn’t look the same
