Is a 36 year old able to wear these?!

I know I'm ABLE to! But do they look really childish? I'm done with heels and wear trainers much more these days but don't like boring styles I like a bit of fun.

I'd wear it with perhaps a long duster coat to make it fun but not too childish if that makes sense.

WEAR them!!! You will rock them!

TheFutureIs · 23/01/2022 16:26

I'm 39 and I love my Nike hitops

Mrsjayy · 23/01/2022 16:27

My sister is your age she wears all sorts of trainers and would wear those just wear them.

caniwearthis · 23/01/2022 16:28

Great thanks both, like I said I wouldn't wear them with childish clothes I'd probably keep ready if my outfit plain, polar neck, duster coat, skinny jeans!

My 8 year old son has them. They are cool though. I’m probably living vicariously.

Mumsnut · 23/01/2022 18:20

I'm decades older than you and i have a pair

DaveGahansRealWife · 23/01/2022 18:20

I think they smack too hard of someone trying to be "on trend" and they are a bit manly. (Sure that will upset someone)

Francescaisstressed · 23/01/2022 18:21

They aren't the most on trend trainers atm, but I imagine they would be quite comfy and if you like them that's the main thing!

User310 · 23/01/2022 18:23

Yes!!! I love them.. I’m 31 and would secretly be envious and the go and buy them!

girljulian · 23/01/2022 18:23

I love these, I’d wear them.

Keke94LND · 23/01/2022 18:26

I want a pair of these (I'm 27) I'd probs wear them with some straight leg jeans (not skinnies)

underneaththeash · 23/01/2022 18:27

I'm not sure OP.

mynameiscalypso · 23/01/2022 18:27

One of the mums at DS football class this morning was wearing something very similar and looked so effortlessly cool. I loved it.

Floisme · 23/01/2022 18:35

Has there ever been a more fraught, more judgemental, more mean girls trend than this one? Please bring back heels and maybe then us flat wearers can get on with our lives again.

They look fine op.

Valkyrie40 · 23/01/2022 19:19

My 12yo ds and 14yo dd both have a pair so I'd be surprised to see them on a 36 yo but I don't judge! Wear what you like!

Gonnagetgoing · 23/01/2022 19:29

Wear them! I’m 50 and have a pair and love them.

CaMePlaitPas · 23/01/2022 19:42

I like them! I'm not sure about a duster coat though, I think a bomber would look better.

oohmamama · 23/01/2022 19:45

My feeling is that if you have to come on to Mumsnet to ask if you can wear them that you probably don’t have the confidence to pull the look off. Get some Boden instead.

IvorCutler · 23/01/2022 20:06

That’s a bit rude @oohmamama. Obviously op likes them, she just wants to gauge whether or not her peers would wear them? Some people have the confidence to wear whatever and others need encouragement. I don’t see the issue.

I see this point and was a bit worried about this! I hate looking try harder hence why I say they would be work with very plain clothing everywhere else

I'm 48 and Air Force 1 hi tops were on my xmas list. They're fucking trainers. Pensioners wear them. Who gives a shit whether some people think you're 'try hard'?

caniwearthis · 23/01/2022 20:37

@FKATondelayo I think I agree with you 😂

This. They’re lovely. I’d be seriously tempted if they were in my price bracket.
