Just looking for something nice in the sales to replace some of my more acrylic jumpers.

Tk maxx has some nice ones, menswear selection far better than the ones for women which are all quite short.

FridaRose · 17/01/2022 12:14

Zara. Mango. Usually 30% wool or cashmere is enough for me to feel the difference in quality.
100% wool can actually feel a bit ...'tough'.

Ohshitiveturnedintomymother · 17/01/2022 12:15

Uniqlo cashmere is nice and wears well for the price.

M&S for merino wool or lambs wool

nordica · 17/01/2022 12:17

Woolovers always has good offers on (even outside of the usual sales times) and I've found them good value for money. I like their merino and cashmere mix in particular.

Purplewithred · 17/01/2022 12:19

Nearly New Cashmere - really good quality at low prices.

TheDogsMother · 17/01/2022 12:21

M & S are pretty good and machine washable too.

Xiaoxiong · 17/01/2022 17:36

I got a lovely 80% lambswool jumper from M&S in the sale, navy with little tiny coloured flecks. I don't think I've taken it off since. It's 20% polyamide which I think is why it's a) machine washable and b) not hideously scratchy.

Celtic & Co

minipie · 17/01/2022 18:26

Yes, cashmere from BrandAlley

Also check out the sales at Pure Collection and Denner

UsernameInTheTown · 17/01/2022 20:16

Charity shops and Ebay are full of the stuff, I am obsessed with pure wool jumpers and cashmere coats!

minipie · 18/01/2022 15:45

Be very careful if buying second hand wool and cashmere, I imported clothes moths that way!! Keep anything you buy second hand in the freezer for a while before wearing to kill eggs.

ThreeFeetTall · 18/01/2022 15:47

@Purplewithred

Nearly New Cashmere - really good quality at low prices.
I second this, good customer service too (And the models are the right size for the item)

House of Bruar have some lovely cashmere, merino and lambswool in a huge range of styles and colours.

Lipsandlashes · 18/01/2022 15:59

DH bought me a lovely cashmere jumper from Next. It's nicely thick and warm. Washes well. I also have one from La Redoute that washes well. DH likes the cashmere from Uniqlo and M&S but I found the Uniqlo ones too short and M&S a bit itchy.

DarkCorner · 18/01/2022 16:26

I have this and it's lovely (but yes, as above poster mentions, quite short but that works for me as I'm short): www.uniqlo.com/uk/en/product/women-100pct-premium-lambswool-turtleneck-jumper-439997COL01SMA004000.html?gclid=CjwKCAiA55mPBhBOEiwANmzoQun6f9wiKjwmgC6TYgeN217Nn4Th1k3ZeHBYmuh6nhpaMUBq-6vt2xoCipgQAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds

Journeynotdestination · 18/01/2022 16:30

H&M cashmere is good.

NotImpossible · 18/01/2022 17:14

I also buy secondhand (and have also imported clothes moths - I'm a lot more careful now!) but have had some beautiful jumpers for very low prices.

Sexnotgender · 18/01/2022 17:15

Landsend is lovely. Also nearly new cashmere.

Bluebluemoon39 · 18/01/2022 17:15

I have a lovely one from Boden - I'm not usually a boden fan but it was the style and colour I wanted, it's really nice.

Polecat03 · 18/01/2022 17:17

@minipie How long are you meant to freeze them, exactly? Feeling twitchy now about my just throwing them in a drawer with all my other woollens....

Ohsugarhoneyicetea · 18/01/2022 17:26

I got a nice one from Zara recently, very cosy

MsAnnFrope · 18/01/2022 17:35

i second (third?) buying second hand. I've had some great Brora and Bruar from charity shops.
I also found uniqlo lasted well, til DH tumbled it. Now it belongs to DD...

CovidCurious · 18/01/2022 18:18

I got some nice ones from M&S. Good value.

minipie · 18/01/2022 18:27

Polecat I think a few days? Not sure how reliable it is though, but have seen it recommended.
