Thinking of giving one to my sons girlfriend who will be 22. Is it an ok present for this age group?

I have my god daughter who is 23 one for Christmas and she LOVED it, proper loved it. My 22 year old daughter though would look at me as if I had two heads if I got her one. It’s a case of know your audience.

PollyGray · 16/01/2022 15:19

I'd love that!

AlexaShutUp · 16/01/2022 15:19

My dd loves hers!

Starryskiesinthesky · 16/01/2022 15:21

Hmm know your audience is a worry as I don't really know her well! Sounds hopeful tho!

Perhaps ask your son if she's into skin/hair care? It's a really good idea for someone who is.

Malariahilaria · 16/01/2022 15:21

Does depend on whether that person is aware of how beneficial they can be to skin, hair and sleep. If they aren't into that sort of thing they may just think 'you bought me... a pillowcase.. Okaaaay'.

WeTheNorth · 16/01/2022 15:33

My DD loves hers and won't sleep without it now. It has done wonders for her curly hair. I reckon if the recipient is into her hair and appearance, it would be a lovely present.

Hannahthepink · 16/01/2022 15:34

I have one to my 24yo sister recently and she was really pleased. She's into beauty and knows about that sort of thing (I knew that she already had a silk turban and scrunchies for similar reasons).

Starryskiesinthesky · 16/01/2022 19:12

Thanks 🙏 I think I will go with it and hope for the best!

what a lovely present

PoshWatchShitShoes · 16/01/2022 19:34

Thanks for posting this. Just ordered one for SIL's birthday this week!!

ExtremelyDetermined · 16/01/2022 19:37

I've got one and gave it away, it did absolutely zilch for my curly hair or skin and felt really weird to sleep on.

DedalusBloom · 16/01/2022 19:39

Ooh I'd love one but agree a little bit of research would help.

Nydj · 16/01/2022 19:44

Just a heads up in case anyone is considering buying for someone who is vegan - silk isn’t vegan friendly. There is at least one brand that sells pillowcases made with ethically made silk though.

Joystir59 · 16/01/2022 19:45

Stupid idea

UpDownRound · 16/01/2022 19:53

Surely you then have one pillow that doesn't match your other ones? I've wondered this for a while but suspect I must be missing something!

GoodnightGrandma · 16/01/2022 19:53

Yes, I’d love one !

Discwriter · 16/01/2022 19:54

Love it. Has really made such a difference to my skin and hair, I would love one as a present

LondonQueen · 16/01/2022 19:55

Yes, they are lovely!

If you're that bothered about what your bed looks like when you're not in it, you could cover it with one that matches your bedding during the day.
StruggleStreet · 16/01/2022 20:48

What about a silk hair wrap instead? I got one for my sister for Christmas and she loves it. A pillowcase it a bit of a difficult gift I think unless you know what her bedding is like to get one that will go.

StruggleStreet · 16/01/2022 20:49

These ones are nice - www.silkelondon.com/collections/shop-the-collection

Rude! How is it stupid? Most people that are into skin/haircare will know that they are supposed to be beneficial, but they are expensive, so may seem too extravagant to buy for yourself. I think often the best presents are things that you would like, but can't justify buying.
Youaremypenguin · 16/01/2022 20:50

I would love one but always worry about face cream and a silk pillowcase. I wear it everynight and have very dry skin so I use quite a lot.

I'd love it as a gift though

sofakingcool · 16/01/2022 21:32

I've just bought them for my Nieces (16 & 18) for Christmas and apparently I'm the coolest Aunty ever...Grin
