I'm getting fillers today, do they hurt?

I'm getting fillers in my upper cheeks. Botox only gets rid of 50% of my fine lines now and I constantly look tired.

I'm anxious!

Do fillers hurt?

My numbing cream had run out my time I had my cheeks done, it was a bit stingy but was totally fine! Lips are the most painful thing in the world - anything after that is a walk in the park! Good luck :)

ItsAllAboutTheLighting · 16/01/2022 08:00

Thank you.

I've just been reading up about the actual procedure and someone say they put a cannula into your face and slide it across?!

And others say it's an injection.

Which one was it for you?

It’s uncomfortable but not overly painful. Lips can sting a bit bit cheeks aren’t too bad. You’ll be fine

LaurieFairyCake · 16/01/2022 08:07

I had multiple injections - the clicking as it goes onto the bone is really weird Grin

Thanks for the warning! I'm a bit squeamish so it's good to not be taken off guard with weird clicking onto bone Grin

Oooh can we see before and after shots please OP? I'm thinking of having this procedure done myself!

ItsAllAboutTheLighting · 16/01/2022 08:38

Yeah sure!!

Lips are awful, they poke around under the skin with a thick needle, it feels rank! Good luck!

PandoraP · 16/01/2022 14:12

I am booked in for fillers and Botox next month. I am not worrying about it hurting during the procedure, but that it will weird afterwards. Good luck OP. Would love it if you would share your experience afterwards.

ItsAllAboutTheLighting · 16/01/2022 16:41

I had it done, it didn't hurt at all, just felt a bit bizarre at some points but only for a second.

I'm not sure I see any difference to be honest.

I'm going to wait a few days and take a pic in the same light I took my "before" pic and I will post it.

I am thinking of getting a fillers to lift my face. I have had Botox on my 11's, forehead and crows feet for the last 5 years but now feel it's my lower face that needs some assistance 😀
Do you know how many ml they used?

ItsAllAboutTheLighting · 16/01/2022 21:39

She used 0.5ml on each side. It really hasn't helped the very thing I was hoping that it would help.

But you live and learn!

Also, she asked if she could post my before and after photo. My after photo was clearly airbrushed, and filtered Confused

@ItsAllAboutTheLighting, which area did you want to treat? I am having a lot more fillers to lift my face a bit. Sounds like a lot to me as I am not that bad a case, but 0.5 does not sound like a lot either. Did you go to a good practitioner? Mine has promised I will still look natural after. Fingers crossed for that.

incognitodorrito · 17/01/2022 06:13

I went in for my usual Botox & fillers, but have decided on recommendation of a new doctor to have profhilo instead of fillers for now. A few days later, my skin is glowing and generally looks a lot more (naturally) plumper. Need to get second injection in 4 weeks and then every 6 months but I’m super impressed !

Isabelle70 · 17/01/2022 08:33

@ItsAllAboutTheLighting that doesn't seem a lot of filler at all. I think for me I will be in the region of 3ml but I need to double check when I go for the consultation.

Those pics are the wrong way round.

The first one is After

Really tricky to see any difference tbh. I know this wasn’t what you were looking for but the lines around your eyes look definitely reduced. I can’t see any difference around your “problem area” however both pics are taken under completely different lighting etc so very tricky to compare.

incognitodorrito · 17/01/2022 12:19

... I need to also add that I don’t think anyone apart from me really sees any difference from my treatments too and your skin looks really clear and lovely !

Whingasaurus · 17/01/2022 12:19

Only the animals they are tested on

CrimbleCrumble1 · 17/01/2022 12:45

Give it another few days to fully work.

Milomonster · 17/01/2022 12:52

Can’t see a difference either. I’m on the tear trough post currently running, and the difference is very obvious.

ArabeI · 17/01/2022 12:53

Was it to help lower face?

CrimbleCrumble1 · 17/01/2022 13:05

I think the line from nose to mouth looks less deep and your cheek a bit plumper.
