Shoes for this wedding dress help please!

I'm considering this dress for my wedding, I'll probably get it taken up a bit so it's not floor length but TBC.

The wedding is in a forest so I need some shoes which won't be impossible to walk or dance in. I used to be good with heels but haven't worn them for much of the last year.

I was thinking maybe a low-ish wedge? I have a love of espadrilles, maybe some with some navy and some sparkle? But I'm very open to suggestions, flat or low-medium heel though please. Probably going to add a sparkly belt to the dress to make it a bit more special but again, TBC

Please don't try and persuade me against the dress. I get SO worked up about dressed as I'm very busty and nothing ever looks good on me, but this dress makes me smile and feel happy and want to dance. There is a cold shoulder version in a pale grey/green which is lovely too and I'm going to try it on, but I've got no desire desire a 'normal' wedding dress so a navy one which I'll wear again fits the bill perfectly.

I can’t see the dress.

angstridden2 · 13/01/2022 08:38

Love the dress!

NashvilleQueen · 13/01/2022 08:45

How about silver? Jewelled flats maybe? Still glam but you can walk and dance. Would look lovely with the blue.

JuneOsborne · 13/01/2022 08:45

Dress is drop dead gorgeous! Wear what you want (and have some walking boots/wellies in reserve?)!

Wedges sound perfect to me.

NarcissistsEyebrows · 13/01/2022 09:50

Here is the dress on me, in case you couldn't tell I'm not the gorgeous model Wink

Thanks for the ideas. Silver flats sounds good, if anyone spots any I'd love a link but I'll try and post some ideas here and get your approval.

You look better than the model! It's a gorgeous dress and really suits your shape and colouring.

HollyBollyBooBoo · 13/01/2022 10:10

Stunning dress, you look fab! Yep silver shoes will look great.

Anoisagusaris · 13/01/2022 10:11

Dress looks better on you than the model! Gorgeous.

mogschristmascalamity · 13/01/2022 10:14

I love that dress!

NashvilleQueen · 13/01/2022 10:41

Just some ideas. Not sure any suitable. One has a heel which you may not want because of the forest floor(!) but all would work with the dress I think

That dress is beautiful - it really suits you. I like the silver T-bar shoes that NashvilleQueen posted.

Zebracat · 13/01/2022 11:22

I love your dress so much. I think some velvet flats would look great. Loads in the sales. Wellies if wet!
Have a wonderful day.

hellsbells99 · 13/01/2022 11:28

I love the dress! You look fantastic in it

Doidontimmm · 13/01/2022 11:34

Gorgeous dress. Sparkly silver or gold best and matching flats would look great. You don't say what time of year and whether mud might be an issue but I think super glam fats rather than espadrilles or wedges. Sparkly sandals, sparkly shoes like those worn with saris, ballet pumps for wet weather

NarcissistsEyebrows · 13/01/2022 12:06

You are all so lovely Flowers

I'm a short podgy 42 yr old size 14 with a ridiculous J cup bust and a mum tum but the dress does do something magic doesn't it?!

Thanks for all the ideas.

Wedding will be June so maybe Wark and dry but who knows? There is some cover so I won't be literally standing in mud, but the floor of the venue is bare forest. We've warned all our guests so I assume most people will be in something flattish.

Nashville yours are lovely but a bit proper for me. I think I'd prefer something a touch more casual, and def no spiky heels or I won't be able to walk up the aisle without sinking

NarcissistsEyebrows · 13/01/2022 12:10

Doidon I quite like them and think they've would work but again they somehow seem a touch too grown up / posh / prim for the look I'm after. I think I want that magic combination of slightly casual and sexy, whereas I can imagine Kate Middleton wearing those. I don't mind 'fancy' but I prefer slightly rock chick / retro / sexy fancy rather than KM iyswim

Candyss they're more the style I'm after but lace up the leg doesn't suit my short muscles legs, they cut me off and make me look dumpy.

NarcissistsEyebrows · 13/01/2022 12:14

Candyss I don't especially need toes covered but I really like that option you posted. Poss for the evening more than daytime but a great price for comfy dancing shoes. I like the way they look slightly like a Greek godess winged shoes or sth! Kate Middleton would never wear those Wink
