@EllaPaella I have that T-shirt! It’s lovely. I like it with leggings as it’s a bit longer. Sorry to still hear you are suffering. You have my deepest sympathy. I developed a lung infection straight after covid and it’s taken
me a long time and some days I am still massively reliant on inhalers.

Jeans - boys aged 11-12. They were £1 and I thought DD might like them - but they are too baggy for her but on me are a perfect boyfriend fit. They are a bit snug and old say a 12/13/14 boys is an 8. And I don't have a bum so that probably helps but they have big man's (grr) pockets. I know where I'll be looking for jeans from now on!

I'm always picking up bits for people I know as I know what they like - it's a bit trickier for you guys (I got the fear ) but I really should have a good idea by now having been on these threads for yonks. For my £1/2 bargains some might be a bit of a punt but it's all good fun and not the end of the world if you hate things

Type of clothing (be specific) so dresses/jeans/tops/jumpers/sports wear/coats - the £2 one is often good on coats/gilets
Shoes/boots - sizes and styles
Brands you like in any style (if that makes sense)
so if I come across e.g. a phase eight or hush or lk bennet top/dress in your size/any style I'll nab if it's £2
Fav colours /hated colours.

I never spend more than £10 on any charity thing - more often than not much less unless it's amazing and I'd check first!

@Softpebbles so sorry to hear you've been slow to recover as well. It's crap isn't it? Honestly I could scream when I hear people banging on about how it's just a cold' - maybe it is for some but certainly not everyone's experience. I am so frustrated with work, I am off sick until next week (have to isolate anyway until Friday) and have told my boss I am super tired and a bit 'brain foggy' and I have still been inundated with telephone calls and emails from colleagues asking if 'they can just discuss such and such' - honestly I wouldn't dream of pestering a colleague when they were off sick. It's just so unsupportive and it's made me feel quite emotional today. I'm certainly not in a place to be advising clinically while I'm off sick and don't really see why I need to keep explaining this to them.
The only time I've been off sick in the 6 years I've worked there is when I had my heart op 3 years ago, it's not like I have form for taking time off unnecessarily and I wish they would just leave me alone!

@EllaPaella my advise would be to take longer, I didn't and I also ignored my sick note and still worked, albeit half days throughout and it did me no favours at all. I was really stupid and went away with friends when I was unwell (not contagious obvs), in hindsight I wish I had of just rested and rested some more. I also started jumping in lakes far too early

So kind of you @Shannith to offer your services.

Office days for me this week. It's about a 3hr drive away so I only tend to go up once a month. Fortunately, I work with/for one of my closest friends so I also get to see her and stay with her for a night so it feels like a bit of a fun trip away in some ways - plus I love the team and job in general so the 5.30am start to get there doesn't feel too painful! Nice to get home to see DS today, though.

Excuse the plaster on my hand. I had the biggest sign yet that I am hurtling towards decrepitude when I managed to spill boiling water from the kettle all over my hand when filling my hot water bottle the other day and burned myself quite badly.

@EllaPaella please ignore the work emails. You need to rest and allow your body to recover. Covid is a very nasty virus that takes a long time to leave the body by all the evidence. Please don't risk long covid, it's not worth it. And extend your sick note if you are still not 100%. In 2018 I had the seasonal flu and was unwell for about 4 months. I simply couldn't shake it off because I kept ploughing on.

Thank you for the trouser love they are great I could do with a fitted waistcoat with them as that would look amazing.

@WestrayWife the jeans look good but may I make a suggestion that worked for me, the infamous half tuck, when I first got back into wider legs I didn't do it and the jeans felt wrong.

Sorry you are feeling ill @EllaPaellait took me ages to recover probably a good 6 weeks of feeling tired... sorry not helpful!

@Shannith I'm tempted to move to your town just for the charity shops. You always look so chic. If you ever find another blazer like that one for Ellapaella in a neutral colour and in size 16 for a quid or two... well, I'd love you forever.

I spent a lot of time outside today so I was mainly in outdoor clothes wearing my new Me+Em coat which was totally out of my budget but which I love. Turtleneck from jigsaw, scarf is a lovely merino wool one but a gift from my MIL and brand unknown. Jeans are Sainsbury's and also new, but they feel too big after 2 days of wear. Possibly should have sized down.

Also really really need a full-length mirror and to clear up kids toys

When you forget that people can see your legs in real life meetings because your so used to videoconferencing! Perhaps not as ‘corporate’ as I’d intending

Bought some trousers for spring at the weekend but they are so comfy I couldn’t wait to put them on. They are a lovely soft denim. In reality they are slightly darker green but the photo makes them look lighter.

@Justonedayatatime11 I don’t think the boots look ridiculous at all, but I do think the long boots over jeans look can look a bit dated (with the exception of country boots for muddy walks type look).

I’m just saying this because I splurged on a pair of long Valverde boots (similar to F&F) a couple of years ago & have hardly worn them as I’ve gone off that look and much prefer ankle boots / trainers now

So on the assumption they were rather expensive, I’d say just have a real think about whether you see yourself wearing them for years to come. If you do, then great

I can't get excited about any of my pre-covid work clothes (even if I could still fit into them ) so I'm stuck in limbo just now. Don't see us returning to the office on a regular basis any time soon, so I see a lot of muddling through clothes-wise in my future as I refuse to buy corporate clothes!!

@MargotLB I needed a thermal under the jumper yesterday but the cream definitely suits my style better than the darker version - I think it'll be really handy in the Spring
