I have just got rid of loads of stuff I haven't used for years, stuff that's brand new and I hardly wear it.

But I am going to try to use what I have and enjoy it now I can get to it!

I'm also on mat leave so could do with not spending unnecessarily...

Only rule is I can buy something if I wear it regularly and genuinely run out eg no concealer or mascara or moisturiser etc.

Yes let's include skincare as well...

TooWicked · 03/01/2022 17:02

Yes, the only things I will need to buy are foundation and mascara, as they're the only things I don't have more than 1 of.

As for the rest of it, lipsticks, blushers, eye pallettes, etc. I could do "no buy decade" and still have tonnes of stuff left.

SandysMam · 03/01/2022 17:11

I would like to join please for skincare, make up and general cosmetics.
I reckon I have enough for the year other than deodorant, tinted moisturiser, mascara and conditioner (which sounds like a lot but I will probably only need to buy one each of these to go with my stocks). I find it so wasteful when I look in the cupboard and see 10 bottles of the same thing!

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 03/01/2022 17:13

I'm in.

I bought some lipsticks and hand cream last week, and have new blusher, mascara and Benefit Dandelion all lined up for when the ones I'm using run out, so I really don't need any make up. Skin care will need replacing if I run out (just a day moisturiser and a night moisturiser).

Lndnmummy · 03/01/2022 17:20

Me!! Not allowed to buy anything other than to replace things like toothpaste, shampoo etc. Oh and my Skin + me prescription. I am def keeping that.

lindyloo57 · 03/01/2022 18:11

I'm in, I brought some bits in the boots half price sale, and I had the holland and barret calendar, so I now have enough creams and makeup, my goal is to only buy something that has run out and I don't have a replacement.

SandysMam · 03/01/2022 18:39

Oooh the Boots half price sale!!! Now I want to shop, help me stay strong!!!

lindyloo57 · 03/01/2022 19:01

I know, its so hard to resist, I had the benefit travel size blushers in my basket, I have one I use regularly it seems to last long without fading, as some of my others do, I nearly brought them, but I know I don't need them I have around 9 blushers already.

Hotyogahotchoc · 03/01/2022 19:50

I know! It's sales and offers that get me... and free gifts!

I'm definitely including skincare too.

Benefit blushers are some of my favourite of all time Grin

Ooh can I join. I've far too much amd I love it all so want to use as much as I can and enjoy it. Also not buy perfume of any kind at all . Perfume is my achilles heel.

JustLikea · 04/01/2022 14:30

The only thing I'll need to replace is foundation when I run out. I have more than enough of everything else.

Hotyogahotchoc · 04/01/2022 15:14

I love perfume but they last ages and I have some from years ago so will not buy any this year.

The things I would buy if they run out are:

Face cleanser
Face moisturiser

Mascara (probably have enough unopened ones to last the year)
Brow powder (but unlikely to run out)
Concealer / corrector

Things like shower gel and deodorant if they count!

I managed to go to M&S sale today without buying anything!! I thought of this thread and resisted. I want to try to really appreciate the stuff I already have so am practising gratitude when I use it.

CornishTiger · 04/01/2022 16:55

I’ll join. I might need to buy facial cream cleanser and possibly moisturiser towards end of year.

Also may need a Mascara

However I’m fairly well stocked So doubt it. I have so much to use up.

Hotyogahotchoc · 05/01/2022 12:50

Well done @SandysMam!

@CornishTiger I really think I have enough mascaras to last the year and hopefully I get to use them before they dry up. They haven't been opened so should be fine but I've got a few nice ones to try like benefit and Nars

Maybe if I throw them out after 3 months like you're supposed to...

for me, yes, and trying to use up all of what I have too.

So far I'm almost at the end of:-

Benefit Boing concealor
Clinique City Block 40
Maybelline Snapscara Black

I also use a Maybelline Tattoo eyeliner in a metallic ginger/red a lot so will probably repurchase and I like all of the above.

I was in MAC this week and bought:-

their concealer similar to Boing
Creme de la Femme lipstick

That's pretty good for me.

Over lockdowns I also repurchased various items but things like Chanel Vitalumiere foundation which I love.

Don't talk to me about skincare/hair care. Actually with skincare, I generally buy a moisturiser for day and one for night and use both up but have a standby on hand in case.

With haircare my hair is damaged from a hairdresser plonking a bleach blonde permanent colour (rather than highlights) on my hair which was in good condition so I have to use lots of products on it until it's cut/grown out.

I do like a good shower gel though.

Have got lots of bath stuff for Christmas - so will try to go through this all and also got a Neals Yard Remedies GC for birthday which is unused.

I did buy an Upcircle box of stuff in sale - I do like their products and prefer to buy, if buying, things I will actually use and are ethical too, if I can.

Gardeniafleur · 05/01/2022 14:14

Me!

Barefacedchic · 05/01/2022 14:22

Me, as I do every year! I don't wear makeup. The odd lip salve (but I have sufficient to last the year out) and that's all.

Hotyogahotchoc · 05/01/2022 14:34

How annoying!

@Hotyogahotchoc - it is so annoying - but luckily I have 3 miracle products (had to get a brand new one of one of them) which have helped save it.

But am spending/have spent loads on leave in conditioners/masks. Luckily I've finally found a really good hairdresser who won't mess it up!

allfurcoatnoknickers · 05/01/2022 16:41

I'm in. My hoard is out of control.

DillDanding · 05/01/2022 16:45

I’d like to but I’m too addicted. I have at least given away the 2 lipsticks I got in my Bobbi Brown advent calendar which made me look like Morticia.

Hotyogahotchoc · 06/01/2022 11:41

Would love to know what your miracle products are @Gonnagetgoing if you want to share!

@DillDanding Maybe it takes time. I was addicted for years before I stopped buying because I realised I had so much and couldn't use it. Plus having used so much, I realised what my favourites of everything were and it's hard to top them.

Welcome @allfurcoatnoknickers love the name!

So I nearly posted yesterday what I wasn't going to guy but then thought sharing the good deals I was tempted by might not he a great idea!!

But will be accountable if I spend on something - hopefully with reason ie run out

I have just ordered some Christmas presents in the boots sale, I managed to not order the Benefit blushers, or any new makeup or creams. Staying strong.
