On the back of the mums boot thread, dear S&B experts, do these get a style thumbs ups or down? Or just meh?

@liveforsummer

These would be a more modern/ on trend version. More practical for winter too with the thicker, grippy sole
Much better!

I think both pairs of Clark’s boots are classics, and a lot depends on what you wear them with? Although I think ankle boots are still more on trend?

EllaPaella · 28/12/2021 19:30

Not frumpy but maybe a little dated. The ones that @liveforsummer posted are really nice and a bit more contemporary.

Iamkmackered1979 · 28/12/2021 19:33

The first pair I am not keen on, the second are ok, a bit boring but depends where you wear them and what with. Go try them on, see how they look and fit. As long as YOU like them what does it matter if I do or not or anyone else.

If you want a pair of knee boots, frumpy/classic or otherwise, I can recommend DUO Boots that sell them by the calf width.

They have a sale on, but I've not really looked, as I already have 1/2 dozen pairs of their boots!

I prefer the second ones OP but that’s because I avoid buckles on boots, don’t know why they always look a little naff to me.

They aren't frumpy but they aren't on trend either . Short Chunky ankle boots are what is but if you like them and you are obviously a classic dresser then they are fine . I personally find them very dated but I am not a classic dresser . But what you like !
