Could anyone please recommend a rich face cream like nivea but a bit more fancy? Something for mature skin ideally.
Thanks!

Use a serum, then nivea.
The aldi and lidl serums are good

La Roche Posay is a good rich cream but other than being moisturised if you want to see more dramatic results you'd need something like Retinol and vitamin c

Thank you both for the tips, it's a gift for my mum. I'm not sure that I will find anything that's actually better for her than nivea, her skin looks about 20 years younger than it is - I wish mine did!

Ohhh okay fab well what's wrong with sticking with nivea it's obviously working for her?! ❤️

doadeer · 16/12/2021 18:53

Maybe get her a nice hand cream or something like that?

BusterGonad · 16/12/2021 19:02

I really like the Nuxe miel balm for the face. It's really soft, buttery and nourishing. I'm one for rich creams and I like my skin to feel soft, my skin has never been so soft and I've repurchased it twice and I'll repurchase again soon. I'm not usually one to stick with a brand but this is a keeper for me. I also have sensitive skin and I do like Nivea.

BeMoreSusan · 16/12/2021 19:04

My thoughts exactly but she's requested an upgrade!

Oh, is that the ultra comforting one @Buster ?

I've tried to do a link but my stupid phone won't let me, I like the lip balm in the jar too. Here's the name of the face cream. Rêve de Miel® Ultra-Comforting Face Balm

BeMoreSusan · 16/12/2021 19:15

Thank you all very much!

Yes it is Op. I actually love it. My skin is amazing now, I've always had decent skin but this adds so much plushness to it. It really is great, I wear it day and night and a pot lasts about 2 to 3 months for me.

LittleEsme · 16/12/2021 23:21

Any chance you can send a link?

JustLikeaJingleBell · 16/12/2021 23:39

My DM uses Nivea and hasn't liked anything fancier that I've given her because she's so used to her Nivea soft.

GrumpyPanda · 16/12/2021 23:40

I've got very dry skin and use Nutrix by Lancome which is wonderfully rich. Define "mature" though... my mother, now in her mid-80s, has moved on to only using face products with added urea.

JustLikeaJingleBell · 16/12/2021 23:41

I'd get her Boots No 7 protect and perfect day and night cream plus their Advanced retinol complex to wear at night. She can alternate night with the P&P

JustLikeaJingleBell · 17/12/2021 09:55

Actually I've just remembered that my DM did use Clinique dramatically different moisturising lotion (yellow) for ages for a while then went back to Nivea soft. She might be alternating between the two.

BusterGonad · 17/12/2021 11:40

I would say that the Clinique dramatically different moisturiser is nothing like Nivea, for a start it's runny. The Nuxe balm holds its shape, its definitely a cream, you could turn the pot upside down and nothing would fall out. It really is a comforting balm. A pleasure to use.

WrinklesShminkles · 17/12/2021 16:44

Nuxe creams are a pleasure to use. L'occitane makes a rich shea face cream in a glass jar which might also fit the bill.

CrimbleCrumble1 · 17/12/2021 20:04

Does your DM use Nivea Q10 range? If not then maybe try that.

LaCerbiatta · 17/12/2021 20:24

I use the Nivea Q10 one out of choice, could afford more expensive. Similar ones I like are the frankincense neals yard one, dr haushka Rose day cream and balance me. Really dislike n7 protect and prefect, gives me a rash.

CrimbleCrumble1 · 17/12/2021 20:27

LaCerbiatta that’s the same as me, I switched from Clinique to Nivea Q10 because my skin seemed to be too sensitive for Clinique and I was getting little rashes.

LaCerbiatta · 17/12/2021 20:39

Nivea Q10 is amazing!! 😀

lunepremiere79 · 17/12/2021 22:16

Neals Yard Wild rose balm is amazing. Rich and your face glows in the morning! Good price for it on amazon at the moment www.amazon.co.uk/Neals-Yard-Remedies-Organic-Beauty/dp/B00787HH8Q?tag=mumsnetforu03-21

Lookingoutside · 17/12/2021 23:07

L’Oréal do some lovely creams for mature skin. There’s a truffle one and a Rosie one. In Superdrug they’re often on 3 for 2 so you could get her a matching serum and cleanser or an item for yourself.

Bussinbussin · 17/12/2021 23:10

Rosehip oil under a layer of Nivea is divine, so nourishing.
