Could anyone please recommend a rich face cream like nivea but a bit more fancy? Something for mature skin ideally.
Thanks!

Have you considered the other Nivea ranges? My DM uses the Q10 60+ and loves it

notoldjustpastyoung · 19/12/2021 17:51

L'Oreal Age Perfect, they have a selection for different skins. 've used it for years I love all their products.

TheRemotePart · 19/12/2021 21:50

No7 does 3 ages ranges of skin care
The blue one is to abouy 60 and the pink/red one is 60+ I’m sure ? Restore and renew and lift amd luminate?
I use the green one and swear by it and my mum uses the blue (L&L) as she foung the red too rich

Boots do loads of little stalking filler ones and gift sets you could try for very reasonable? And they do 3 for 2 pretty much constantly.
There’s also the serums and usually a matching foundation too. ( again, great - I’ve actually stopped buying my high end ones as the No7 are just so good)

I’ve had a loads and I always, always go back to No7 as it’s the best at the price.
And I do have very nice skin

My mother used Nivea cream till she died at 96had lovely ski before that Oil of Ulay(Olay it now is)

Malibuismysecrethome · 20/12/2021 08:55

I like the new organic L’Oreal range the night cream is lavender.

mowglika · 20/12/2021 15:19

I can’t think there would be many creams that would work better than nivea, especially if it’s working for her so far. I’d get a lovely serum to use underneath the nivea. Boots protect and perfect is a good bet.

I’ve used expensive creams and thinking of switching to nivea when my current stuff runs out. That and Vaseline always gives me super soft and plump skin!

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 20/12/2021 15:58

The Vitaskin range in Holland and Barrett is really lovely, and often on half price so very reasonable.

Gonnagetgoing · 20/12/2021 16:30

Nuxe or Caudalie are nice or also Lancome. L'Occitane are also a step up - I like them too but SIL's DM (and SIL) both love them.

Gonnagetgoing · 20/12/2021 16:31

@Bussinbussin

Rosehip oil under a layer of Nivea is divine, so nourishing.
@Bussinbussin - Neal's Yard Rose Oil is lovely.

OP - Neal's Yard skin creams - they do one with Frankincence (sp?) and others - they get rave reviews online.

NowWhatUsernameShallIHave · 21/12/2021 08:24

I’d recommended a Decleor Balm

It feels and looks like a lip balm but you take a tiny amount a small pea size and melt it into palms and it becomes like an oil but not slippery
You press it into the skin in the evening
One pot is 15mks but you use so little that it goes a long way
I use mine twice a week instead of my night cream

I don’t know what your budget is but I’ve heard good things about Elemis but never tried it

Others I’d recommend are
Liz Earle
Bobbi brown enriched face base

TinyTroubleMaker · 21/12/2021 08:27

I think creme de la mer would be your upmarket version

BeMoreSusan · 21/12/2021 18:30

Thanks everyone for the recommendations, I've gone for the nuxe reve de miel balm. Great to know there are so many options, I'm going to try out some myself!

Vichy do some lovely creams

Geamhradh · 21/12/2021 19:56

I also use Nivea Q10 as my cheap yet effective cream, and sometimes treat myself to:

L'Occitane Divine
Liz Earle Superskin
Lancome Hydra Zen (smells divine, texture is like Silk- they'll be reducing the gift sets to half price soon)
Neal's Yard Frankincense

I also rate N7 Lift and Luminate and the pink one (restore and something) which are both for more mature skins (I'm 56) P&P is for 20somethings with first signs of ageing.

@BeMoreSusan - I love the Nuxe reve de miel (and any other Nuxe too!) range. I often get this in France and a big chemist where I live often has Nuxe on sale. Feels so luxurious.

There’s so much out there.

Sallycinnamum · 23/12/2021 13:09

OP I have very dry skin and Nivea is the only moisturiser I've ever found that is hydrating enough. The only one that came close was estee lauder but its £100 a pot!

I find that devotees of Nivea don't want to swap to another moisturiser!

Thank you! It's funny actually as I bought a big tub of blue Nivea today, due to Christmas expenses I'm trying to make my Nuxe balm last until the January payday! 😁
