Just wondering if it's possible to lose the apple shape.

I'm 56lbs down but still very Appley.

Got another 35lbs to go.

What shape were you when you were younger before you put on lots of weight? Everyone has excess weight round their middle if they are obese (as you must have been at your biggest) and while you are still overweight you've definitely got a waist and boobs which means you might well be an hourglass at a healthy weight.

Well done on the weight loss. The red dress is gorgeous and really suits you.

DontTellThemYourNamePike · 16/12/2021 13:36

You've got a great set of pins! I was always a pear no matter how big or small I was. However, I am now more of an apple (or maybe a papple!) but that's due to menopause.

Well done on the weight loss. You really do look great, whatever fruit shape you are!

Looking at the front view its possible you will be more hourglass as your hips and bust/shoulders are clearly both wider than your waist, unless it's just the dress. If you have at least ten inches between the smallest part of your waist and your hips/bust then you will be hourglass, with extra belly padding just giving an apple like effect at present.

I'll measure later.

I didn't know about shapes before I gained weight. I can't find anymore full length photos of myself from before

In your wedding photograph you look an HG. The area below your bust nips in and then out again over your hip noticeably. Apples tend to be straighter from waist to hip when slim.

I was a size 18 apple, so a little smaller than you asked. Back down to healthy weight and pear shape. The ‘apple’ bit for me was because most of the extra weight went on round my waist. I used to be a slim hourglass so I guess a bit extra stuck to my hips, but I am older now

LiloandTwitch · 16/12/2021 16:35

Well done on your weight loss Essex!

Yes I'm 10 years older than the last time I was slim Blush

Thank you 😊. Yes it was about 12 years between me being slim the last time. Determined to keep it off this time though as spent most of my adult life yo-yoing

Your figure in your wedding photo is very va va voom, you have a nipped in very defined waist. I think you'll be an hour glass again when you get back to 11 stones.

LiloandTwitch · 17/12/2021 08:09

I'm going to hit the gym in Jan and fingers crossed I might be able to do something about the apple tum then!

Yoga is very good for your core.

LiloandTwitch · 17/12/2021 08:26

Once I'm allowed to do stomach exercises I will try yoga!

Wow you look incredible, congratulations on the loss!!
In response to your original question I think generally body shapes stay similar. I carry weight around my waist and am one of those people who regularly gets asked when my baby is due...regardless of whether I am 12 stone or 10 stone (I'm 5'8").

ahalfchipshalfricemum · 19/12/2021 23:08

I'm a natural apple shape, and always will be no matter how much I weigh.

I would say you are a lovely hourglass or pear shape, and were only apple shape due to your weight gain. Your red dress looks amazing and totally right for your figure. The low cut neckline reduces your bust, the dress nips in at your waist, which shows it off, and the skirt flows over your fuller hips.

Congratulations on your weight loss, you look fabulous 👌

Pics didn't load...
You look fab but the cup size of your bra is far, far too small! Measure yourself using the Boob or Bust method.
Ddot · 20/12/2021 05:14

Can I just say, nice legs! You go girl

Ddot · 20/12/2021 05:22

On your wedding your hour glass, so yes you can get back your shape. You probably will never have the waist measurements as you did before children but it's not impossible just alot of work. You look good and when your at your target weight will look even better plus healthier. Well done and merry Christmas

lborgia · 20/12/2021 07:34

You look amazing, and those ankles!!

Agree about the balcony bras, wired but unpadded, they really make a big difference. They have some at M&S, but make sure you know your size first, and be prepared to try on different sizes, but they can be cheaper than "good" brands if you're still losing weight. non-padded balcony bras

LiloandTwitch · 20/12/2021 12:13

Thanks for the lovely comments.
Am going to order a bra today in a bigger cup size

I think I'm an apple but at my slimmest size 6-8 26 inch waist I'm slightly hourglass. Now I'm a bit bigger 10-12 my apple shape is more obvious.
