Electrolysis stories

Hey everyone! I've recently gained a lot of dark coarse hairs on my upper lip and chin. I hear electrolysis can work for this but I'm worried about skin damage and if it is actually a permanent solution. Would love to hear from anyone who has had it done previously who could share their experience (how long ago they had it, what method and how their skin is since). Thanks so much! :)

@Rummikub Ah I didn't realize you could have your toes done! I definitely have hair there too!
Would you mind if I ask you a few questions about your experience? Did you have to hold a bar at all? And how did your skin react afterwards? Has any of the hair returned? I'm pale and dark haired so getting it on my upper lip and few on my chin now :/
I had a look online and saw about finding someone from BIAE - is this the type of specialist you saw too? I'm often over Liverpool way so would definitely be interested if your person is still practicing :) Thank you again for sharing your experience!

hi - it took a while - like a month or two to notice. when i went back they pointed out it is flagged as a potential side effect and she said i wasn't using the sun block properly.

i carried on stupidly as i believed her.

it's here years later but i am better at managing it. i wish i had never done this - the risks of something going wrong on your face should not be underestimated

@notangelinajolie ah no worries hope you had a nice Christmas break and thank you again for coming back to this thread - appreciate I ask a lot of questions!
Ah that's amazing it was four sessions I have heard it can be like a year or so and worried as some of my upper lip hairs have turned a bit coarse so not sure if they may take longer to kill. With the bar I think if you have it means it's a different method and without its thermolysis which I think is heat. I was just wondering to see if the method maybe affects skin healing and the regrowth.
That's amazing your daughter practices it! I can completely understand the time to go back though, if you don't mind me asking roughly what age were you when you noticed the hair. I'm 34 and honestly not sure if it's normal or something to worry about! Thanks again for all your advice and detailed replies!

@Dolly3656

Sorry for delay only just scrolled down my threads.

I think she’s based on Rodney Street now.

I really can’t remember if I held a bar. I don’t think I did.

I had 2 large hairs o my toes and they’ve never been as big so I can deal with that.

My top lip I’m happy with still and my arms too- they’d been thinned out - I didn’t want I have no fair at all just not so much of it.

It’s one of the best things I had done.
