Struggling to find a long puffer coat

Ahm987 · 11/12/2021 15:57

I’m hunting for a long puffer coat with a hood and cannot find anything just right. I ordered the Hush one, but it’s not thick enough (I get really cold). I’m looking at more outdoorsy brands- I love the look of the North Face triple C, but it’s out of stock in my size (and very pricey, so that’s probably just as well!!)

It has to have a hood, decent long sleeves for my ridiculous long arms (extra jersey cuffs would be a bonus), and a good warmth rating.

Didrikson- again, it’s out of stock, but in any case, I’m not sure if I like the raised neck- might find it a bit of a nuisance with my hairstyle.

Does anyone have any suggestions? I’m happy to pay up to £300 or so. Thanks 😊

I've just ordered the triple-C to try on (not stocked anywhere local to me). I'm 5ft 11 with long arms.

Tried this one in the shop (I think it was this one, was a weird blue/grey that was too light for me in the shop)

And im also considering this Patagonia one -

Haven't tried that one on though!

Have a look at Patagonia, they have lots of really warm options and they’re really ethical too!

I love my marmot chelsea coat, so, so warm and properly waterproof too . How about this www.alpinetrek.co.uk/marmot-womens-montreal-coat-coat/?cnid=fc3d04427784a55faa6d86feb152a

I have the cos longline puffer. Very warm and withstood the most heavy, horrific downpour for over an hour last week without issue. Damn thing destroyed my shoes!

glasshalfsomething · 11/12/2021 16:35

Honestly? I got the threadbare Addison one for just over £40 from ASOS last winter.

It’s more waterproof than my padded Barbour jacket and is wonderfully warm. Didn’t expect it to last long but still looks as good as new!

debbrianna · 11/12/2021 16:48

Tog24 has a sale on.

debbrianna · 11/12/2021 16:52

Another great shop to look at is columbia clothing. Very light jackets with reflective lining for warm.

MintyGreenDream · 11/12/2021 17:18

I've got a super dry duvet coat

missmoon · 11/12/2021 17:21

Arket and COS have long puffer coats. Also Uniqlo?

FanGirlX · 11/12/2021 17:29

Will be back later to read

Thanks everyone- I’ve just been browsing through all your suggestions. I’m not keen on a fur lined hood, which rules a few out. The M&S one, Fatface, plus a few others are all out of stock in size 10, black unfortunately.

I like the Cos one- might give that a go. Patagonia also looks great as a brand, but slightly more than I’d hoped to spend.

Has anyone tried Selected Femme? There was a taupe coloured one in a local shop which looked a nice style (although I wouldn’t suit that colour). I noticed that Zalando sell that brand- just wondering whether they are any good?

@EleonorBronte sorry to hear about your shoes!! Is the Cos coat very oversized? Would you recommend sizing down?
