Tried these jeans on today in river island size 14. They are skinny high waist which is deffo my style. Even when top tucked in I feel huge but imagine if I didn't tuck it in like during summer etc thrn my belly just looks huge. I've lost weight from my legs but all that I gain just goes to my belly help anyone lol

I don't think that tucking the top in is doing you any favours.

harmonyhall · 11/12/2021 10:50

Ok but tucking out makes it worse As yes everything fits but u can still see a big bulge

I can’t see a picture

Bellafrenum · 11/12/2021 10:58

Smock style tunic top over them.

madisonbridges · 11/12/2021 10:59

What picture are you all looking at? I can't see one. 😭

practicallyperfectwithprosecco · 11/12/2021 11:00

I put all the weight on round my belly - never tuck stuff in as I always look worse. Tunic tops or something floaty is the answer for me

mynameiscalypso · 11/12/2021 11:02

I don't think the waist is high enough

Mammyloveswine · 11/12/2021 11:23

I think they look fine op!! Maybe a wrap blouse would give the illusion of a smaller waist?

But a pair of heeled boots and standing taller or tuck in a cami and wearing a blazer

WhenPushComesToShove · 11/12/2021 12:01

These sort of tops are my saviour. Skim rather than hug the curves www.phase-eight.com/search/?q=Chrissie%20

TyrannosaurusRights · 11/12/2021 18:05

The top isn’t doing you any favours and the jeans look like an odd fit around the hips/butt. Try something softer/drapey on top with a half tuck or something structured and slightly cropped (not cropped enough to show flesh but enough that you can see a bit of your shape).

CrimbleCrumble1 · 11/12/2021 18:15

A sweatshirt may look good with the jeans.

Overthebow · 11/12/2021 18:17

The jeans look a bit small around your bum/waist. It would probably look better untucked.

slipperyeel · 11/12/2021 18:20

You look nice OP, I’d leave the shirt untucked. I realise that’s not au courant, but it will emphasise your slim legs.

miltonj · 11/12/2021 18:25

I think they're just not very good jeans. They look too stretchy and baggy round your tummy. Think you need ones with less elastic in them. Pure denim would probably be better!

Iamkmackered1979 · 11/12/2021 18:27

It’s not the jeans it’s the top I think. I’m a 14 too but never tuck in as post kids my tummy is big too so it looks weird on me. I’m also short so always wear heels going out. Half tuck the top it may soften it a bit. You look great though op, well done on your weight loss!

CorrBlimeyGG · 11/12/2021 18:29

Try a straight leg jean. The skinnies emphasise the difference between your legs and your tum.

I agree, but where the hell can you find nice pure denim jeans? I really struggle with jeans, and hate any elastic as they don’t suit my shape. I want proper denim but can never find it?
harmonyhall · 11/12/2021 19:00

Thanks for all replies and advice. Thwts my work uniform top so not something I would wear with jeans anyway

I think the angle of the picture is amplifying things.
I would either go with a more rigid denim to pull you in, or wear the top untucked.
It doesn't look great like that and emphasises your middle rather then your legs which look pretty good.
The other thing is to wear an open blazer.

miltonj · 11/12/2021 19:06

@canyoutoleratethis I agree... so hard to find these days... especially with all these 'push up' options. Which look amazing for the first month or so and then go saggy! I'm not in the UK so pure denim is a bit more common here. In UK I think you have to spend a fair bit on Maybe Levi's for example.

I think the way you are standing doesn't help - straight legs and shoulders back OP Grin

gunnersgold · 12/12/2021 07:47

Looks like you are an Apple which is very difficult to dress as your weight is at the front and no hips to balance out . I don't have the answer as I'm an hourglass but maybe google Apple 'rules'
