Which of these knits do you prefer?

Im considering one of them. I am 5'4" and slight/slim build. Blonde, cool tone skin.
My style is usually minimal boho (no patterns), long skirts, corduroy, cashmere. I would wear either jumper with long skirts or mini's & wool tights/boots.

I update one knit per year, sometimes two, and i love all three!
Stone colour crop is by Margaret Howell, cream tunic by Poetry, and indigo slouch by Celtic&Co.

I would rank them as C&co, MH and Poetry in that order of preference. Is there a difference in materials (and prices)?

FetchezLaVache · 01/12/2021 15:14

I like the stone crop most (am also 5'4" and slim and personally prefer jumpers of that length to avoid being drowned or look out of proportion), followed by the indigo slouch and then the tunic.

MacNTosh · 01/12/2021 15:18

Stone is the nicest, but I think it might be a tad warm for a cool blonde. The cream is a better colour, but looks a bit cheap, the indigo is a bit meh.

ArseInTheCoOpWindow · 01/12/2021 15:18

If you have cool skin tone then teal would be your best. Not keen on the collar though.

Pheasantlysurprised · 01/12/2021 15:20

Thanks!

The Howell is the most expensive at over £200, then the Poetry at £140ish, with the Celtic at £109.

Oddly i do suit beige/cream, no idea why.

If you suit beige then you’re not cool based. You might suit cream, but that brown one would look like sludge on a cool based skin.

Pheasantlysurprised · 01/12/2021 15:23

The cream Poetry one is possibly my favourite, it would suit my style, so am surprised it is less favoured here.
God knows what i walk around looking like Grin

Sadly Poetry never, ever have my size in stock in literally anything I ever take a shine to, it really annoys me and makes me want to avoid them but I always go back for a snoot...

I equally suit both gold and silver jewellery. No idea why. I have been described as a cool tone and have pale ash blonde hair.

I dont suit orange or red or brown, nor jewel tones, but i do suit most neutrals.

Oh, I like the Indigo one myself. The others are just because boring beige to me.

canyon2000 · 01/12/2021 15:32

I have the Celtic & co jumper. I already had the stone coloured one from last year and loved it so much I bought the blue this year! The MH is lovely but not keen on the length of the tunic. I have a £20 off C&Co code if you want it.

allofthecheese · 01/12/2021 15:39

My fave is the MH too. The crop style would look great with skirts.

Megan1992xx · 01/12/2021 15:43

I like the stone crop best, I am 5'7" and would definitely wear that as it would go with many things.

lunarlandscape · 01/12/2021 15:43

I'm also blond, cool skin tone, suit cream and 5'4". I was instinctively drawn to the Poetry one because I love tunics. So warm in winter and if you get the under layer and scarf right, you don't need a coat, which is a look I love.

Mercurial123 · 01/12/2021 15:44

MH is by far the nicest the quality will be excellent and I'm guessing made in the UK.

BreadBreadBread · 01/12/2021 15:46

I like the MH one best. I think the tunic has the potential to drown you a bit, since you're petite and slim built. I don't like the C&Co one. Think the neckline is a bit fussy.

Pheasantlysurprised · 01/12/2021 17:08

Thanks so much for your thoughts:)

I have never bought from Celtic&Co so not sure about the quality, but they seem very popular on here.
I do agree that the MH would be the best quality, by far.

Am still mulling it over, and thanks for the offer of a code!

MH sales can be good but as far as I remember they are in January.

Knittingnanny · 01/12/2021 17:24

I like the stone one, I’d get make up on the high neck of the cream one!

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 01/12/2021 17:26

The MH one is lovely. I really don’t like tunics at all, and am not very keen on the colour of the third one.

ArabeI · 01/12/2021 17:35

Between the Howell/Stone and the Celtic/Indigo. I'm not as keen on the shape of the Poetry cream tunic.

OtherPlans · 01/12/2021 17:37

How do the materials compare?

Pheasantlysurprised · 01/12/2021 17:40

The MH one is heavyweight shetland wool. Poetry tunic is alpaca and cotton. Celtic slouchy is geelong wool.

Im amused at how unpopular the tunic is, i love it!

  1. No3 2. No1 not keen on the middle one.
OtherPlans · 01/12/2021 18:00

Alpaca is so comfortable I can see why the tunic would appeal. I do like MH knitwear though and it lasts ages.
