It looks buttery soft and fairly unique, i dont like designer stuff much or obvious brand logos. But i do want a bag that wont date much and will last.
Im not into very contemporary styles and most bags i can wear across body as well as on shoulder are either huge or tiny.
It is the exact right size and style for me, but im wondering what you lot think of it?

It is expensive (just over £500), and i am to choose something in this region as a special gift. No idea what to do as this is a lot of money!
The purse on the front it detachable via two saddle type hooks.

I like it, where is it from? It does remind me of the Dior saddle bags circa 200 a bit but less showy.

IvorCutler · 29/11/2021 14:10

I really like it, the flap reminds me of a Dior saddle bag.

IvorCutler · 29/11/2021 14:10

Cross posted!

musicforsnorks · 29/11/2021 14:10

thanks, it is from Plumo. It just looks quite timeless to me, but im no style expert Grin, some people might hate the shape, it really does remind me of a saddle!

I love plumo! I’d go for it if you love it.

Santaischeckinglists · 29/11/2021 14:12

For 500 quid I would want a concierge to carry my stuff around for me!!
Grin

musicforsnorks · 29/11/2021 14:14

yes it's bloody mad money isnt it?

I really Like it. Looks lovely and buttery as you say, practical and not flashy/brand-y.
Won’t date.

musicforsnorks · 29/11/2021 14:23

ive been staring at it for a few months, but no way would i be buying it if it wasnt a gift.
I like that it looks somewhat anti-fashion, it reminds me of bags i saw women carrying in France when i used to travel there in the 90's.

i do believe everything dates though, but only in the sense that our senses become so used to a thing it can loose it's freshness after a few yrs. But that isnt a strict rule of course.

Look at other suppliers or if you can buy the bag from the company that makes it.

BeaMends · 29/11/2021 14:38

Bit too strappy and fiddly-looking for me.

whatisthisinhere · 29/11/2021 14:44

It looks nice enough, but I'd find all the buckles to open it quite awkward.

Ireolu · 30/11/2021 15:33

I think it looks dated already because of its dior saddle like asthetic. I wouldn't buy it for over 500. I wouldn't carry it in 10 yrs and that is my test for it I shd buy a bag.

ILoveShula · 30/11/2021 16:05

The dior saddle bag is very much in right now

IloveJudgeJudy · 30/11/2021 17:30

It wouldn't be for me as I prefer a simpler bag Smile but what I think doesn't matter. If you like it and think you'll like it in 10 years, then buy it. Treat yourself.

Mercurial123 · 30/11/2021 17:34

It's not a classic bag, it will date. If I was buying something I wanted to keep for years it would be a satchel or tote.

CloudyStorms · 30/11/2021 19:09

Too fussy for my liking

RogueV · 30/11/2021 19:12

Don’t like it, looks very dated abs something you’d buy from Cheetham Hill market.
The Dior saddle is much sleeker and also IMO quite ugly

bananaboats · 30/11/2021 19:54

I personally think it is quite dated looking its a bit fussy.

Viviennemary · 30/11/2021 19:57

Not particularly keen on that style with the fussy looking buckles.

Wagsandclaws · 30/11/2021 20:34

Op have you looked at Polene ? Really beautiful French leather bags for around that price point ( possibly cheaper )

coronafiona · 30/11/2021 21:38

I think it's a bit dated sorry. It's a LOT of money too Shock

UsernameInTheTown · 30/11/2021 22:04

It looks like the offspring of a Dior saddlebag and a Radley Grosvenor and not in a good way. Sorry OP it's ghastly!

Peppercorn9 · 30/11/2021 22:15

Save your money OP - it looks like something you could easily get for around £30. For £500 it'd need to knock your socks off (which that bag very definitely doesn't!)

NameChangedForAChange · 30/11/2021 22:40

I’ve just looked at that bag on the Plumo website. It’s a Campomaggi bag, so really good quality and maybe quite heavy. I think there are nicer Campomaggis than this one. I think there are nicer bags altogether than this one at that price.
