Is this a really boring dress or is it elegant (or is it something else?)

For a 'dress to impress' do. It fits me really well, like on the model, and the material is really good quality but I'm worried it's too bridesmaids-ey. I'm not much of a fashion-ista but I do want to look a bit sophisticated and not seem like I've dragged out a frock from 30 years ago.

Looks lovely but I would probably snip off those buttons if they're not holding anything in.

I Iike the colour and style, but the white buttons make it look like a nightie.

I think the red dress could work if you style it in a boho Helena Bonham Carter sort of way with lace up boots and some layers or accessories like a cloche hat or beret and some chunky wrist cuffs . On its own it could veer over into velour nightie. But I love the cut of it. I love empire line.

Dress number one is nice. I would wear it. I can't imagine dress number two flattering many people

Nah, I’ve got a ‘fuller figure’ and I’m certain it would make me look like I’m all tits. I think empire dresses suit people who are willowy-ish but still with some curves, like the model

Style is NOT age dependent. Your opinion is as valid as anyone else's

Great colour. Not frumpy but stay away from the court heels - you need shoe interest.

You also need to ensure you wear an underslip, this will help the skirt of the dress hang nicely (even if a cheap fabric) and if you wear tights will prevent static electricity causing the dress to cling to your tights, which is never a good look.
