Hiya I'm hoping someone might be able to advise if there's anyone out there that does this for a living .

I had 1 ml about 1 month & 2 weeks ago , pleased with it as had no top lip really before - but I have two new creases / folds on my top lip that have appeared- I'm seeing her again in two weeks and she said it will settle but I'm not sure what's caused it or what the solution is - I'm booked to have more filler with her . She is a qualified nurse who has done this on the side for 6+ years , fully certified etc and uses juevederm . Will have a go at uploading a pic , and advise much appreciated x

Did you actually check her qualifications or was that what she said on her Facebook page or whatever?

sal1223 · 24/11/2021 14:12

Yes I checked them out and have known her for over 10 years , she work with a local gp doing aesthetics

That looks like it’s still swollen to me.

sal1223 · 24/11/2021 14:16

This is them last week , I forgot to add that I had 0.2 ml botox Monday just above lip line on both sides to give subtle lift- which may have made the creases worse , they we're definitely there before although not visible in this pic . Overall I've been really happy with the result

I've only had filler in the top

sal1223 · 24/11/2021 14:19

@FreeBritnee maybe that's what it is from Monday making them like this

Ok, not an expert, don’t do lip fillers or anything but do not think more filler in your top lip is the answer as you’ve already had 2ml injected.

Have read that 1ml is standard to be injected in either lip for natural look, often with some left over and that an overfilled top lip does cause creasing. So could be possible that with 2ml in your top lip, it is overfilled?

I would consult with a cosmetic surgeon (MD) in your shoes about the creasing to see what can be done. You need someone a little more expert than a nurse imho.

PlanDeRaccordement · 24/11/2021 14:43
  • is not the answer erg! Worst place to forget a not.
PlanDeRaccordement · 24/11/2021 14:43

Nevermind, did have a not in there. To be clear- I would not put more filler in.

NynaeveSedai · 24/11/2021 14:44

Don't put more filler in your lips!

sal1223 · 24/11/2021 14:47

I've had 1ml not 2, it's something I've been conscious of for years having no top lip so after getting out of a 15 marriage due to infidelity I wanted something to help pick my self esteem up off the floor . She's calling me later to discuss reasons for it and possible solutions

She's the most qualified in my area and trained in London . I could have paid £'a less and got in done in one of the hundreds of salons that offer lip augmentation - I was asking here as I've been worrying about it all day

I had 1 ml about 1 month & 2 weeks ago

Ok, so you did not have 1ml one month ago and then 1ml two weeks ago? 1+1=2

You have had total of 1ml?

WillThisUsernameDo · 24/11/2021 14:50

It’s likely to be bruising that will settle down. Can you feel a lump at all? When you go back in 2 weeks do not get any more put in your top lip! You’ll end up with a permanent sneer.

sal1223 · 24/11/2021 14:51

No 1ml 6 weeks ago . It's to try and balance them out as bottom lip is pretty full looking already

OP posts:
sal1223 · 24/11/2021 14:51

No lumps

This is them 2 hours after having them first done - so they are swollen . This is what I'd have liked as a final result though which is why I was considering another ml

Looks like she’s overfilled and misplaced the injection on your top lip, causing it to turn upwards. That in turn has caused the crease.

NynaeveSedai · 24/11/2021 14:55

They look fine in your picture from today. They look filled but not too fake. Don't have more put in, you won't look like the picture above you'll just look inflated.
Disclaimer - I hate the look of lip filler but honestly your lips in the second pic look fine. Don't mess any further.

PlanDeRaccordement · 24/11/2021 14:58

Oh! Got it 1ml total.
Then it should be ok after it’s settled down. I still would not add any more filler to top lip.

Stiffcondomhat · 24/11/2021 15:02

They look still swollen to me. Do you have an electric toothbrush? I find very gently brushing the skin around the lips (but not actual lips) helps healing. Clarityn 15 min allergy tablets were recommended by my salon also.
Keep drinking lots of water and I'm sure they will settle, don't panic. You may just need a little extra in the corners of your mouth.
I've never had botox, only fillers, but I think they might be causing the crease.

I think

ZealAndArdour · 24/11/2021 15:04

Looks like there’s no filler in the corners which has then created two ridges.

If you trust her to sort it then let her sort it.

sal1223 · 24/11/2021 15:08

Ok thanks all x
