Best body shop products?

54 replies

Jiggy16 · 24/11/2021 07:20

I have some money to spend in the body shop, so looking for some good products to use, anyone any products they really rate from there? Thinking more down the skincare line.

I'm mid 30's with dehydrated combo skin, could do with hydration, glow, help with fine lines and loss of plump-ness to the skin. So basically everything lol.

I have cleansers that I'm happy with and have a skin and me subscription for retinol. But would welcome any other suggestions!

Thank you in advance!

I've not been in body shop for years but the people who work there are generally very good at giving advice so tell them what you told us and they'll probably be able to advise well.

Jiggy16 · 25/11/2021 23:42

Yea I know but I love the advice that is given out on this board so just wanted to get some potentially unbiased recommendations, please feel free to give me your recommendations!

Thanks

The camomile range is amazing , they do gift sets and it's the only thing that doesn't make my eyes sting as got v sensitive skin! I like the makeup remover butter balm think that's what it's called it literally melts your makeup away! So good.

Avoid the makeup it's not the best.

I’m generally confused by the body shop these days. Never looks an inviting place to shop and anything I have liked gets discontinued. I think the shower liquid is ok?

Ashue · 26/11/2021 00:57

I never buy anything I want in bodyshop now either. Everything seems to smell of fruit! They used to have some nice eyeshadows etc but their make up range very narrow now. They probably still do good face creams though, and as PP said you will get some good advice in the shop.

Strawberryjampot · 26/11/2021 01:17

I wish they’d bring the dewberry shower gel back. They did for a while t he

Strawberryjampot · 26/11/2021 01:18

Oops… then stopped it again

NotMyCat · 26/11/2021 01:42

Not skincare but the almond milk honey range is lovely, especially the hand cream (not greasy at all)

Rhannion · 26/11/2021 02:00

Please don’t buy anything from them. The company is a far cry now from the original concept. They are misogynists.

CharlW1 · 26/11/2021 02:32

I second the camomile range is fantastic, especially the cleansing butter.
I also love the body yoghurts and also body scrubs.
Happy spending Smile

@Jiggy16

I'm sure I'll get flamed for this as people on here hate The Bodyshop at Home but I'd recommend contacting a local experienced At home consultant (ask around on social media).

If your willing they can come and do a one to one consultant with you and even bring samples for you to try and then help you to chose your products and order them for you.

Rollergirl1980 · 26/11/2021 06:11

The hemp handcream works miracles.

FestiveMayo · 26/11/2021 06:12

@Rollergirl1980

The hemp handcream works miracles.
It stings my really sore hands so be careful
FestiveMayo · 26/11/2021 06:13

Aren't they an MLM now? Sorry if they aren't.

FixItUpChappie · 26/11/2021 06:16

The Shea body butter is thick and fabulous - best hand/body cream ever IMO

friedeggandsauce · 26/11/2021 06:53

@FestiveMayo

Aren't they an MLM now? Sorry if they aren't.
Yes I think so, it seems so many of my friends now are doing it and are flogging raffle tickets, body butter deals 🙄
madmomma · 26/11/2021 15:21

Yup MLM and a pushy one at that

KirstenBlest · 26/11/2021 15:26

the essence of youth stuff is nice as is the makeup, soap, body butters, shower gel and hemp hand cream. I'd gladly tried the shampoo and conditioner but unlikely to buy any for ages

Definitelysometime · 26/11/2021 15:27

Ginger shampoo is bloody brilliant. Not much of a treat, admittedly, but makes my scalp feel all fresh and hair shiny.

FestiveMayo · 26/11/2021 16:21

@friedeggandsauce @madmomma thanks. I'll avoid them then.

Claudia84 · 26/11/2021 17:11

I take it you have vouchers which is why you're restricted? The sales people can help and will probably be less biased than on here as they'll know the full range.
The only thing they will be biased about is it being bodyshop so I wouldn't worry too much about that!
Tbh I've tried the skincare and don't rate anything for the price and as you have a skin &me prescription already it's probably not worth it.
If I had money to only spend in bodyshop I'd probably go for body butters.

latedecember1963 · 26/11/2021 20:11

I like the Vit E skincare and the avocado body butter absorbs well and smells fresh rather than sickly.

PheonixGlitterRepublic · 26/11/2021 20:15

The pure Shea butter is amazing for dry skin and I am a big fan of all their body butters with a special shout out to coconut and mango.

RaininSummer · 26/11/2021 20:17

There is black Friday deal on body butter at the moment. 4 for 20 pounds.
