Should I buy yet another pink coat

I love this! But I own 3 candy floss pink coats already, a business style one, a 70s style faux fur coat and a rain mac … so this one would be winter weekend casual and I need it right?

Right now I live in my navy maternity coat.

Should I buy yet another pink coat

Lol, a validation post, that’s what I do. 10 people will wade in with massive “nos” and one person will say “fabulous” and you buy it.
The coat itself isn’t to my taste but that’s irrelevant. You are wearing a maternity coat so it sounds like you need a weekend coat and if this one brings you joy, buy it!

Chocolatecoatedkettlebell · 22/11/2021 09:30

Sorry, to clarify “isn’t to my taste” is not a dig. It’s not in my colour pallet and I can’t wear belted coats like that.

HomeCountiesMum · 22/11/2021 09:33

I absolutely love the fur trimmed coat. It's stunning 💕💕

Mercurial123 · 22/11/2021 09:41

Nobody needs four pink coats. But if you want it buy it. I'd prefer to buy one coat which is good quality.

MoltonSilver · 22/11/2021 09:51

What happens when you tire of pink coats and you're stuck with 4?

I think you should leave it at 3 and mix things up a little.

BakeOffRewatch · 22/11/2021 11:17

I think @Chocolatecoatedkettlebell hit the nail on the head, it’s not about the three pink coats I already own, it’s about the navy very practical and warm maternity/baby wearing coat.

I also buy good quality, but I have been very slow post partum and unpaid mat leave to buy nice stylish stuff that fits.

@MoltonSilver I doubt I will tire lol, these coats were purchased 4-6 years ago.

In terms of quality there was this lk Bennett one last winter www.johnlewis.com/l-k-bennett-ava-wool-blend-mohair-collar-coat-pale-pink/p5163841

The dark green is on sale now www.lkbennett.com/product/CCAVAWOOLMIXGreenGreen~Ava-Green-Wool-Mix-Coat-Green

But now I’ve had baby I hate spending so much on myself!

The colour makes me feel so happy. Go for it OP.

OhRosalind · 22/11/2021 15:41

I totally get the desire to shake off the drab maternity wear and wear something that makes you happy, although I’d be tempted to go for another shade for variety. I do like a bright coat though and if you love pink then go for it.

I much prefer the LK bennet version though, the shade looks a lot more luxe and like something a old fashioned film star would wear. I’m not really a pink person but there’s something about pink coats, I have been eyeing up one from Rouje even though it reminds me a bit of my granny’s dressing gown.

Forgothowmuchlhatehomeschoolin · 22/11/2021 15:46

Can you afford it??
Then get it!!
Life is short and if something sparks joy then you should get it.

Polecat03 · 22/11/2021 18:33

God I love them all! I've actually owned the one in your first image on the bottom left, I managed to melt the sleeve getting too close to a bonfire though.

They are all beautiful, glamorous and feminine. Love the colour, totally up my street.

ArseInTheCoOpWindow · 22/11/2021 18:37

Depends on the person. I had 7 at one point. I’m a summer so it suits me. I never go off it, it been my best colour for about 20 years.

ArseInTheCoOpWindow · 22/11/2021 18:39

I love a pink coat.

Aderyn21 · 22/11/2021 18:39

If you live and can afford it without sacrificing anything important than I say buy it. I still hanker after the beautiful red leather jacket that I didn’t buy in tkmaxx be a I needed a sensible black raincoat and that was 20 years ago!

CorrBlimeyGG · 22/11/2021 18:42

It's 100% polyester. Cheap tat I'm afraid.

BusySittingDown · 22/11/2021 18:42

I personally love it but I wouldn't buy another pink coat. I'm speaking as someone who has two pink coats but it's starting to make me feel a bit self conscious as I get a lot of comments like "ooh, you love yourself a pink coat, don't you?" Blush

BusySittingDown · 22/11/2021 18:44

Crap, I realise I've just told a fib - I actually have 3 pink coats Blush. A puffer jacket, a teddy coat and a rain jacket!
Op, we're obviously soul mates Grin.

Gastropod · 22/11/2021 18:49

I buy a new pink coat every year. Just bought a lovely bright fuschia winter coat from Mango (to add to the pink coat from Lipsy I bought two years ago...) and I love it! Makes me happy every time I put it on.

So, go for it. Pink coats rock!

ArseInTheCoOpWindow · 22/11/2021 19:22

Gastropod, I’d buy one every year if l could find one I liked. I’m not keen on fuschia which is often a winter colour, but l do like a sugar pink or bubblegum pink.

LadyEloise1 · 22/11/2021 19:33

Please please tell me where the pink furry jacket on the bottom left of the photo of your original post is from please @BakeOffRewatch

I love it.
The coat not so much.

BakeOffRewatch · 22/11/2021 20:07

As you asked so nicely @LadyEloise1 Grin

H&M Pink Fur Jacket, RRP £79.99 back in the old summer of 2017. I saw it in an August issue of Grazia, called up the Oxford Street store to check stock, and went straight there to buy it! Glad I did, as then it sold out pretty much straight away and was on eBay selling for £200. DH was bemused when I bought a huge coat in August. www2.hm.com/en_gb/productpage.0547228001.html

The other one is Temperley Opus. Very warm, but also very lightweight tightly woven wool.

My rain Mac is from Tesco couldn’t find a photo, but that still gets lots of compliments! I love Tesco coats they always put really practical pockets on them with zips, and line the pockets so they’re comfy for your hands.

Oh no! I’d be distraught. At least it went doing what a 70s fur coat is meant to be doing. I’m keeping mine for baby, at the moment she loves stroking it when I’m wearing it and playing in it.

Nobody needs four pink coats .

This I find to be a truism, op. You need aim for five at a minimum. Smile

ZingDramaQueenOfSheeba · 22/11/2021 20:19

no
you already know this

Well, clearly she will freeze.

Or you know, buy another coat.
