Thanks for the dress love! It's grown on me and I'm not sure I want to send it back now... Only problem is, the other one arrived and I love that one, too. 😂 It's definitely a bit more out there than the first, but I feel like it's a more grown up version of what my 18 year old self would have worn and loved and I love that about it. Now I'm torn. I don't need 2 black dresses, really. I mean, I'd definitely wear them, but I don't need them. The first one is the more grown up of the two and I think probably the one I'd wear more, but the 2nd is the one that my heart wants... I am a Cos convert now, though. All the dresses seem to have pockets. I have waited my whole life for pockets to come as standard and I don't ever want to go back now. Unfortunately, I have completely failed in my brief because neither are suitable for a work Christmas do (the 2nd is a lot more low cut than it looks on the website), but never mind, I'm certain that I have existing stuff that will be nice for the work Christmas party anyway.

I dropped a load of stuff off at the second hand shop local to my parents' place today. I absolutely love it in there, you can always find some gems. Got a lovely, snuggly knitted dress from H&M and my find of the day was a pair of genuine 1460 DMs for £35! Bargain! I'm delighted and DH is delighted that I've not spent all the money on a brand new pair... 😂

Today my outfit was pretty uninspiring -

Cardigan - unbranded, from a warehouse place. I think it's a dupe of a Mint Velvet one.

@adamsmallbone ah, thank you! The coat is about 2 years old now, I think, but I bought it from a warehouse clearance event so it's probably not been stocked for a while, I'm afraid. Depending what size you want, though, there is one on eBay at the moment.

So sorry to hear about your MIL, @Sooverthemill, that must be very hard.

Assembling a new bed today for DD which will hopefully mean she can have her things closer to her. DD1 also here though I haven’t seen her yet. So a busy day!

@toastfiend I love both dresses. They are quite different from each other. I guess the first is more classic but if you would wear both lots and have the budget, keep both? I missed you asking about DD, she's still pretty rubbish and I don't really know what to do. Docs come and go and have no idea. Nurse visits on Friday to do flu and covid jabs so she may have ideas as she's very experienced ( she's our community matron). MIL is very bad I think. She's in heart failure but no one thought to ask what the prognosis is so I'm unclear. But I'm glad they went to see her and she could speak to them and see wedding photos and have a hug.

Sorry you’re going through all of that @Sooverthemill. I hope the new bed goes down well.

@toastfiend both dresses are lovely but the second one looks a bit less practical? I’d lose a boob out the side of that dress

I have a lovely Sunday planned - football with small people, dog walk and sea swim and later on tea out for BIL birthday with all the family.

When we go out this evening I'm to swap trainers for shoes (dying to wear these!) which I found on Vinted and swap cardi for my trusty Allsaints cargo biker. I fell asleep at 10 last night so been up since 6.30 so had to think about outfits

Nothing much planned today. Feel like I have a bit of a cold.

Todays outfit is Leopard print blouse(new look) Black jeggings(m&s), mink faux fur coat(new look) and new boots from Modainpelle who have some great Black friday deals on.

A very welcome quiet weekend of dog walks, shopping, pottering around the house and reading for me.

How about rolling up the bottoms of the leather trousers @20FlowerPower so you can see the top of the boots and maybe a bit of sock?

Just come back from a Christmas craft fayre, the 5 year old saw 🎅 and was very very excited 😁 it's freezing though the wind really goes through you.

I'm definitely leaning towards keeping both, I just have to justify it to myself that, although both black dresses, they are really quite different... 😂 I'm so sorry to hear you're having such a tough time at the moment, it sounds extremely stressful. I hope the community nurse has some suggestions for you and your DD and that she is able to help. Sorry to hear about your MIL, too, it's so hard, especially when it feels like others aren't asking the important questions. Lovely that she was able to see wedding photos etc., though.

@Shannith I love your latest dress find, it's gorgeous and suits you so well.

@CaterpillaNavilla haha, do you know, I thought that as well when I first unwrapped it! 😂 It's actually amazingly secure, though. I've jiggled about, jumped up and down and no boobs went akimbo. I don't think it even needs tape, they seem to have cut it extraordinarily cleverly to get the deep v without the constant paralysing fear of an imminent nip slip... 😂 I do agree that it isn't the most practical, though, but for some reason that I can't totally explain I just want to keep it. Bit silly, really, but there we are!

We took DS to see the Christmas lights at the garden centre today. It was lovely but he now has a list as long as my arm of things he wants from "Farmer Christmas"... 🤷‍♀️ I wore my new purchases from the second hand shop:

I'm in my dog walking gear now, which consists of an Under Armour thermal top, stretchy cord leggings from Anthropologie and my wellies. Not really photo worthy! It's sooooo cold today!

so I was trying to persuade myself I don't need to buy anything new for a customer party I've been invited to the dress code is dress to impress
This is the only party dress I have I bought it pre the 5 year old and even with shapewear I feel a bit to big on my stomach to wear it.

Not sure I can wear the heels longer than 5 mins either 🤣 it's Essex way so I suspect uber glam.

I think it looks great @Sickoffamilydrama, but completely relate to the not feeling quite comfortable in it feeling as I have lots of clothes that I love but don't feel totally happy in these days. Would you want to look for something else? If so, what kind of thing/style would you ideally like - please save me from shopping for myself and divert my attention elsewhere! 😂
