I’ve had a thread lift

Just that really. Had it done yesterday, I have pics and happy to talk about it if anyone is considering it.

I can see a slight difference in the nasolabial folds but nothing along the jaw line?

To be honest this is one of the better lifts I've seen (a beauty salon I use for facials, also does aesthetics, and posts photos). I usually struggle to see any difference at all.

Pickuptruck · 13/11/2021 09:02

thanks so much for posting, i am booked to have fillers to help my marionette lines and now i am thinking of cancelling and going for threading instead. i can tell the difference, you look great

PeachMelba78 · 13/11/2021 11:11

Thanks for the respectful comments, I agree that some people will not see any difference.
Here’s a couple of pictures from today, my scar on one side and the cheek area, both with no makeup, blurring product etc.

For me the difference is quite minimal but I do notice it.
Someone asked upthread about microneedling. I have had a course of 3, quite itchy at the time and red for a while after. Definitely a no camera on Zoom, I look sunburnt! But the effects are great, removed 2 lines from my forehead, really helped with skin tone, texture and elasticity. I pay around £100-110 per session, I will continue to have refreshers done every 6 months or so.

What products do you use after micro needling, Peach?

ExPatHereForAChat · 14/11/2021 01:05

I don't understand how some people have commented they don't see a difference? Are they looking at the right photos?
Great result OP, I'd be so pleased with this.

PeachMelba78 · 14/11/2021 09:34

@Taoneusa I use my normal products.
So rose oil, serum, factor 30 every. single. day. Then the same at night except a good night cream instead of spf. I used to laser but apparently I can’t for 6 months as it will affect the threads. Laser has been great to improve the texture and tone of my skin so looking forward to doing it again but again with micro needling I need to take a break from laser at least 2 weeks before and a good month after.

@ExPatHereForAChat tbh I think it is really subtle so I am not offended at all by people saying that they can’t see a difference.
It’s interesting though, why we always want to see a big difference? I would rather make very small subtle changes than a dramatic change at this point. I am not adverse to a face lift in time but again I would prefer a small lift rather than a big change - I don’t want to be shocked when I look in the mirror.

Looks great. To get 18 months out of it is good.

Pippi1970 · 14/11/2021 09:53

I don't understand the physics of it 🤣🤣 what is the thread pulling on? Is it just the inflammation round the thread that is smoothing out the line?

boireannach · 14/11/2021 09:59

@PeachMelba78. May I ask how old you are ?

PeachMelba78 · 14/11/2021 10:06

@Pippi1970 I don’t understand what you mean, sorry. Which picture are you referring to? Post procedure I was blotchy and had balancing where the incisions were. And my natural skin is not perfect either.

PeachMelba78 · 14/11/2021 10:07

@boireannach I am 43.

I don't understand how a thread lift actually works? Ignore me, I like to know how things work. You look great BTW.

inmyslippers · 14/11/2021 10:12

I can't see any difference. Would you be tempted to go for a surgical face lift? I've heard people having threads and the affects disappear in a fortnight

Keyboardkaterina · 14/11/2021 10:14

I think it looks really good and I can see a definite difference - you look fab.

PeachMelba78 · 14/11/2021 10:15

@Pippi1970 it’s a bit like very thick dissolvable stitches IYSWIM. They lift up the muscle to where it would have sat. I also like to know how things work, especially before treatment.

PeachMelba78 · 14/11/2021 10:17

@inmyslippers as I said upthread I will consider when I feel it’s time.
Right now it’s not the right time for me.
Hopefully it will last longer than 2 weeks!

Thanks for responding in detail Smile can I ask which serum you use, after micro needling? Anything specific? And what laser are you referring to?
You look great, as I said upthread I see a great result, and I fully agree that tweakments are just as valuable as radical makeovers. It all depends on the needs of the individual.

PeachMelba78 · 14/11/2021 10:26

I change my serums quite regularly tbh, but anything with an AHA or retinol. SPF and living a fairly clean lifestyle are the biggest things for me though. So no cigarettes ever, no drugs ever, hardly any alcohol now I am out of my 20s.

Sorry that was in response to @Taoneusa

FanGirlX · 14/11/2021 11:26

@PeachMelba78

I'm a similar age and all I can see in the mirror is deepening lines from my nose to mouth and now small lines going downwards at the corners of my mouth (this makes me look grumpy).

I've got a fillers consultation booked fir December. Why did you decide to go fir the thread lift over fillers?

PeachMelba78 · 14/11/2021 11:31

@FanGirlX I explained upthread, basically I want to preserve the scaffolding of my face as much as possible, rather than put in something that wouldn’t be there at my age. I am still considering a tiny bit of filler on my left side, to balance me up if needed. I am not adverse to a bit of lines at this age, I really don’t like the ‘droop’ though so threads are a better option for me. But it’s not for everyone!

@PeachMelba78

Thank you. Think I need to do a bit more research.

TheBullfinch · 14/11/2021 11:43

I looked into this but heard it only lasts 12 to 18 months so didn't think it was worth it.
