I’ve had a thread lift

Just that really. Had it done yesterday, I have pics and happy to talk about it if anyone is considering it.

I think there is a very good difference. You look like you have no nasiolabial folds now! Much younger looking. Thank you for posting your pics. I really want to get this done plus fillers one day. Any idea about eyebrow lift?

SmileyClare · 12/11/2021 18:45

I am struggling with the ageing process and supercritical of the way I look

I'm guessing from your "78" username that you're 43? I think you have a beautiful face, great lips and the lift has made a difference. The crease you have there is fine, it would look unnatural to have fillers in my opinion.

I hope you don't spoil your lovely face by having more and more procedures. I'm a bit older than you but often fantasise about a face lift..can't afford it unfortunately!

PeachMelba78 · 12/11/2021 18:47

@Rubyredstone do you mean forehead thread lifting? I think they are around the jaw, cheeks (like mine) and eyes (fox eye like Bella Hadid). You can do subtle threads around the eyes for a small lift (I am interested in tear trough fillers so I chatted to my dr about them and she recommended threads not filler) but nothing for the forehead.

Just to add I am fine with people saying that they can’t see any difference, that’s fine. But calling me stupid or ripped off for having it done is unnecessary.

OP posts:
SmileyClare · 12/11/2021 18:49

@Carboncheque

It only matters that you can see the difference and feel it was worth it.
What a patronising comment. Of course Op wants other people to see an improvement.

If I ask dh if he likes my new hair or top, he'll say "As long as you like it, that's all that matters" it makes me want to throttle him.

PeachMelba78 · 12/11/2021 18:55

@SmileyClare I actually don’t mind if no one else notices, I was posting in case any else was interested in the procedure.
I am trying to avoid fillers, I am keen to reduce my ageing but not to the point where I hate how I look.
To me I want to look natural, I am trying to avoid Botox etc but I wouldn’t say it doesn’t look good on others - it often does! For me I want to preserve the scaffolding of my face, the tone and texture (I have microneedling) and feel rested and fresh.
TBH I probably will have a facelift in a decade or two.
I am 43, happily so, but was always told how pretty I was and only prized for my looks, which I hated, but it has definitely added to my vanity.
Anyway that’s an essay but I really am ok if none of my friends or family notice!

Maybe I'm looking at these all wrong, but I can see a real difference. I'm impressed.

Carboncheque · 12/11/2021 18:58

It wasn’t intended to be patronising at all. We’re all much more aware of the things we don’t like about our appearance than other people are.

PeachMelba78 · 12/11/2021 19:01

@Carboncheque your comment was fine! It was the ‘you were robbed’ comment that I thought was mean and unnecessary.

OP posts:
Missatkins · 12/11/2021 19:02

You look fabulous. You looked lovely before, but I can definitely see a difference. Did you have your lips done as well, as your lips look stunning (and not duck like, as can happen with fillers)?.. X

Carboncheque · 12/11/2021 19:05

Ok Smile

SameToo · 12/11/2021 19:07

Can you have it done in certain places or does it lift the whole face no matter what? I have one eyebrow lower than the other and really want it lifting.

Is there any incision made?

I think you look great. Concerned for the eyes of those who can’t see a difference!

HazelandChacha · 12/11/2021 19:09

The last time l looked there was a price of between £1,800-£2,500.

I thought that was a lot considering it doesn’t last that long (less than 2 years iirc) if the prices have reduced a fair bit I might look into it again and see.

I can see a difference OP, nice and subtle so that you will get lots of “you look really well” comments rather than “ooh, you’ve had work done”. Thanks for sharing.

ParadiseLaundry · 12/11/2021 19:23

I think it looks great, subtle, but just like you look 'fresher' which is probably the best type of result.

I would love to have it done!

DameMaureen · 12/11/2021 19:43

@PeachMelba78

It was £700 all in, difference is very subtle at the moment and my line is still visible so I am considering filler on that side only. All pics taken by me, slightly different lighting but not much.
I see what you mean but that could be because our faces are uneven and it may even be the result of the way you smile . A good doc will always retain that bit of individuality but I can see that a small amount of filler might even that out for you if you wanted .
DameMaureen · 12/11/2021 19:44

What happens to the threads after time ? Do they just wear away ?

5128gap · 12/11/2021 20:00

Thats a nice job OP. Subtle but definite softening of the folds. Very natural. I've had this done a couple of times and been very pleased. Tbh it doesn't get any tighter as by the time the collagen forms to give the natural lift the threads have dissolved so you lose the manual lift, but I found my skin texture did improve and got more glowy over time, which was a bonus.

PeachMelba78 · 12/11/2021 20:02

@Missatkins never had my lips done, have always been quite full and I use balm on the skin around the lips as well as the lips as I like how they look.

OP posts:
ButYouGottaHaveASkillJeff · 12/11/2021 20:06

I had threads on Tuesday and I am stressing. The puckering is really bad and one side has been pulled much tighter than the other.

I know it can take two weeks but I really don't think the puckering will go in two weeks. I'm trying to trust the process and my friends are saying the right things 'she wouldn't have let you leave if she thought it was bad' and all that jazz but I'm really not sure. I travelled quite far too so it's not like I can just pop along to have them check.

Missatkins · 12/11/2021 20:07

You're very lucky. Mine are non existent 😭

PeachMelba78 · 12/11/2021 20:07

@SameToo I have small incisions just in front of my ears, tiny though and healing well.
I don’t think they are suitable for the forehead but I definitely was ‘pulled’ more on my left. If I was having Botox I would need more on the left too.
2 threads each side.

OP posts:
PeachMelba78 · 12/11/2021 20:08

I’ll try and get an incision picture tomorrow for those interested.

OP posts:
PeachMelba78 · 12/11/2021 20:09

@ButYouGottaHaveASkillJeff I am sorry to hear about your experience. I am not puckered and a day behind you. My left was pulled more than my right, I have seen people both f2f on the school run and on Teams and no one has noticed.

OP posts:
PeachMelba78 · 12/11/2021 20:11

@DameMaureen they will last anywhere between 18 months to 3 years. If I can get 2 years out of this then I will be happy, especially as a preventative measure.

OP posts:
PeachMelba78 · 12/11/2021 20:13

@HazelandChacha how many threads were you quoted and where are you? I was treated in Glasgow so probably cheaper than many areas, and I get my microneedling locally (45 minutes from Glasgow) which is cheaper than Glasgow, but very professional and high quality.
