Very chic/stylish women that you've seen out and about

I've just returned from holiday and there was a very chic woman staying in my hotel. She was French (of course! I thought she probably was before I even heard her speak). Average height, maybe 5ft 5ish, slim but not skinny, brown bobbed hair worn in a natural wave style, minimal make up. She wore very simple outfits such as black denim shorts with a white fitted tshirt but just looked so good all the time!

Has anyone else seen anyone who really stands out as looking stylish recently?

Im intrigued.

And why is a tall slim woman 'ahead of the game' and not an average height slim woman? Or a petite woman? Are only tall women designed for clothing?
Such an odd myth that really does persist, culturally. I highly doubt tallness is some sort of default for looking good. And many tall women really struggle with clothes.

I think we all differ in what we find chic and stylish.

Pre-lockdown I loved seeing different styles when I went uptown or into the City. Some people are so stylish and well-dressed. Sometimes you spot a shoe on someone that looks great but you wouldn’t have thought of buying. A girl on the tube recently had a beautiful raincoat, I don’t know if it was a new or vintage Burberry but it looked great. I like people watching for ideas.

All the women who look amazing in my experience have great hair, nails, and not a single facial hair out of place.

Note to self: Must ensure facial hair is nicely styled

Is noone getting laser done anymore?

Women who always look chic to me usually have short, rounded, nicely done nails and elegant simple jewellery. Wearing well cut, good quality muted clothes with a nice bag and minimal make up. Women head to toe in black always look chic to me.

Unfortunately the above look is expensive

It was only when we saw them again later in the day I realised none of them were cis women. I don't know if they were transwomen or cross dressers but they all looked amazing and they motivated me to smarten myself up a bit.

Yes, men make better women than women do.

My neighbour over the road. She is very petite and slim and wears the most beautiful 50s inspired outfits. Full skirts, cinched waists, cat eye glasses. She's like Audrey Hepburn reborn.

And I'm sat working from home next to the window in leggings and a comfy top, no makeup and hair in a bun.

I'm so jealous of women who can look so put together every day!

A lady who works at my kids' school is like this. She's about an 18, so not small, but quite tall and carries it well. Always dressed very simply and in quite similar outfits. Black or navy 7/8 length jeans or trousers, Breton, turtleneck, cashmere v necks, cool trainers or palmaira style sling backs in summer.

Casually I've seen her in denim shorts plus a tee with flip flops and an oversized tan leather bag and just looks very cool. Perfect light tan etc.

Yes, hair makes a difference. She used to have a pixie cut which was cool, but now has a blunt chin length bob.

My friend. She's French, so I blame it on that. I can pull her outfits apart, and look at the ingredients and can't work out how she does it. She is mid height and slim and sticks to a narrow range of colours and shapes that all suit her and as far as I know just throws anything on in the morning! Her house is equally stylish. I despair.

Yeah I think we can file that under “things that never happened” tbh!

My neighbour is early 50s, wears mid length dresses, cool leather jackets and classy accessories & jewellery. She's quite tall and carries herself, knows what style suits her.
