Have you bought a duvet coat? Which one?

Under £100 preferably. I tried on the next emma Willis one today dp had a good laugh at it almost touching the floor on me. I'm 5'4''.

Will a duvet coat with some waist tailoring look mumsy? Does it need to be straight?

Superdry has some that look good. It depends on what fit you are looking for.

userxx · 06/11/2021 21:37

I've just sent a Superdry one back, it was too long and I'm 5 ft 7. Really good quality though.

TokyoSushi · 06/11/2021 21:43

I bought this one today www.next.co.uk/g79126s6/606209

It might be the one that you're referring to though. If it is, I'd urge you to reconsider, it's fabulous!!

LadyCampanulaTottington · 06/11/2021 21:44

I found a lovely Michael Kors one in TK Maxx a few years ago. It’s be roughly treated but still looks perfect!

TokyoSushi · 06/11/2021 21:44

I should add, I'm 5ft 5, I bought a petite one, it's calf length, but I wouldn't say it's too long!

RandomMess · 06/11/2021 21:47

I got a landsend petite one.

strelitzialady · 06/11/2021 21:48

I've got a Marigold Shadows one - oversized and quite dramatic looking with nice big pockets!

ClassicFMsavedmycat · 06/11/2021 21:51

I bought this one today - £29.50 in my local M&S outlet store.

Im 5’2 and it just above the knee. Fabulously comfortable and warm

Itsabeautifuldaytosavelives123 · 06/11/2021 21:51

Joules one, I'm unsure whether to keep it or not though

mynameiscalypso · 06/11/2021 21:53

How warm do you want it? I tend to the hot and sweaty so bought a light duvet coat from primark last year and it's my most worn coat by far and looks surprisingly decent on.

Itsabeautifuldaytosavelives123 · 06/11/2021 21:59

I've also got the Fatface one on order, seems lighter

I found a nice one in primark today bum length and a nice unusual texture but dp thought it was weird

Just found it in petite - didn't notice that before thanks!

I have a SeaSalt one with a waist band and it's the most unflattering coat I've ever worn (from Ebay, didn't bother returning it). The waist sits too high and then sticks out from my lower rib cage so it's only worn in the dark for dog walking. I want to replace it with a more shapeless number

Puppylucky · 06/11/2021 22:57

I'm 5"2 and have just returned the Emma Willis /Next one - I looked like a football manager. I've come to the sad conclusion that this is a trend I'm going to have to sit out Smile

@Itsabeautifuldaytosavelives123
I have had a few of their coats and they end up clumpy I would send it back if I were you.

I used to have quite a few bits of theirs but find it doesn't wash well, and I'm very careful with my washing.

Thanks @lisaandalan, you’re right about the washing; everything either shrinks or wears too fast. Not what they used to be, I had a jacket of theirs years ago that is still excellent.

Hortonhearsadoctorwho · 06/11/2021 23:44

I’d love to cut a hole in my duvet and wear it like a poncho Smile

This is my concern!! I already have a joules puffer that looks awful

I have the long Monki one from last year. I love it, but accept that it looks like I am out in a sleeping bag.

stopblowingyournose · 07/11/2021 10:01

I think I will order the petite emma Willis one and check if I look ridiculous in my own home 😂

I really rate Uniqlo for down coats as they are beautifully light which for me is a big plus, couldn't believe how heavy the Emma Willis one is.

TheCategoryIs · 07/11/2021 10:32

Some of these aren’t really duvet coats. Duvet coats are massive and very long. As a result they aren’t overly flattering but must be super warm. I tried this one but was all too much for me

4894hdfk · 07/11/2021 10:33

@asparalite are they warm enough? I've had the regular one from Uniqlo but never tried the ultra light one

asparalite · 07/11/2021 10:39

I find them warm enough but I guess a lot comes down to personal preference, I dislike a heavy coat!
