What colour is my hair?

(Please help me resolve a debate I’m having with DH.)

What would you call it?

• mouse
• light brown
• something else

It tends to go a bit blonde in the sun as you can see from the ends. Also needs a good cut!

Not mouse. I once twacked a mouse with a tennis racket and it wasn't that colour. There was more red in it.

You’re a rare, natural blonde. Same here. Depending on the weather in the summer (UK), I vary from white blonde to you.

I don’t visit hairdressers much, maybe 6 times in my life (I’m 58 now so thankfully going a scrumptious silver). They can’t believe I don’t dye the “blonde” bits, either.

My kids and grandchildren were/are flaxen.

I'm going with light brown. My hair is a fair whack lighter than yours and I consider it dark blonde (as oposed to my DD who is just blond).

It's not mouse at all though. Mouse is grey/ashy toned, but yours is definitely golden brown, not ashy.

It’s definitely not brown. It’s the kind of shade your hair goes when you were light blonde as a kid but gets darker as an adult. The tone is completely different to brown.

I’d call it champagne blond. Mouse is really ash brown.

It looks similar to mine and tbh I think most people would say a shade of brown, I usually say its brown too because I do think its more of a brown than a blonde and am not fussed either way.

A friend who is a hairdresser says my own hair is dark blonde so I suppose she would technically know but the issue is when people think blonde they think of the very light shades so anything that sits on the border of dark blonde to light brown becomes brown.

Seeing photos of my hair in daylight often makes me realise its lighter than I realised.

There’s such a fine line between dark blonde and light brown. I’d probably go light brown but I tried dying my hair light brown once and it went black so 🤷🏼‍♀️🤣
