Something sophisticated, long lasting, but young.
I need to try something new.
No preferences other than the above.

Sophisticated and long lasting don't go with young in my experience. Sophisticated perfumes are for sophisticated women, not kids.

I'm racking my brains and really can't think of anything long lasting that I think would suit a young person

FindingMeno · 29/10/2021 20:08

@ouchmyfeet hmm, am I asking the impossible, I wonder?

Not tried it myself, but I keep reading on here how Zoflora is lovely.

LookdeepintotheParka · 29/10/2021 20:23

Any particular notes you prefer?

Twilly d'hermes springs to mind as I think it suits all ages. Quite sophisticated but girly at the same time!

FindingMeno · 29/10/2021 20:26

@TwoLeftSocksWithHoles it wasn't what immediately sprang to mind Grin

@LookdeepintotheParka I shall look that up, thank you.
I like musks and florals mainly.

@LookdeepintotheParka oooh that sounds well worth a try!
I'm thinking which perfumes I've always liked - chanel no 5, estee lauder beautiful, samsara, shalimar - but they're all 'older' perfumes and I wonder if they're a bit dated now.

Have you tried the narsisco Rodriguez perfumes OP? I love the peach cube one, but there is also one called fleur musc or something similar

LookdeepintotheParka · 29/10/2021 20:34

Fleur musc is gorgeous - my go to for Spring!

CoffeeBeansGalore · 29/10/2021 20:34

Nina Ricci, L'air du temps. Fell in love with it as a teen and I've worn it for over 30 years.

Nina, by Nina Ricci is also nice but I always prefer my L'air du temps.

LaCerbiatta · 29/10/2021 20:35

If you want too try something cheap, I had a spritz of this the other day and it was nice and long lasting, a bit warm and vanilla y but not too sweet.

FindingMeno · 29/10/2021 20:35

@ouchmyfeet that sounds lovely! I will put it on my try list, thank you.

DD 30 likes Miss Dior and coco mademoiselle

SmallProvincial · 30/10/2021 01:16

Pulp by Byredo... Smells like peach kernels and cut grass. Very long lasting. And pretty chic for a fruity scent.

hellsbells99 · 30/10/2021 01:31

My adult DD likes Because It’s You by Armani.
I currently like La Vie Est Belle by Lancôme

hellsbells99 · 30/10/2021 01:32

My other adult DD likes a couple of the Zara ones - very good value for money for everyday wear

CobraChicken · 30/10/2021 05:28

I'm really not an expert of what's sophisticated and I doubt this one appeals to young people, but if you're after a perfume with ridiculous staying power, Tom Ford's Black Orchid is a very long lasting scent. I love it but unfortunately I get a headache every time I wear it Sad

Not dated, classy, timeless and elegant. Smile
I love all of those and think you need to explore Andy Tauer.
L'Air du desert Marocain, Au Coeur du Desert, Lonestar Memories- all spicy, warm and autumnal.
Chanel Coromandel also fits your bill. As does Coco. The Tom Ford mentioned by po also.
More high street classics you might like looking at your list- Hermes Faubourg wotsit.
Twilly is lovely- DD had it at 16. It's supposedly Hermes answer to the "young" marketed perfumes like Dior Joy, and the Chanel Chances and Gabrielle.

TyrannysaurusXXrightshoarder · 30/10/2021 08:12

I’ve had to buy my 18 year old DD Twilly three Christmases running (including the shower gel, body lotion and soaps….Grin).

Cam2020 · 30/10/2021 08:14

Both discontinued but I would have said De Ci De La or Boudoir.

secretbookcase · 30/10/2021 08:14

Caleche by Hermes might work. It's floral, quite fresh but also long lasting - think it might be jasmine based.

secretbookcase · 30/10/2021 08:16

OP I am looking for exactly the same. Went on a hunt for one last Christmas with DH but e ended up buying me Chanel No 5 which is fine but a bit meh and I never feel that great wearing it. It's a bit unimaginative.

A friend had one called something like Bal du Soir or Bal d'Ete which is only available in Harrods, she said. It was exactly what you describe but I've hunted on Harrods website and can't find anything by a similar name.

FindingMeno · 30/10/2021 08:31

most of my most long lasting perfumes are probably not specifically youthful, but i am not sure what that means unless you mean one of those really sweet fruity ones?
What sort of scents do you like? Its such a personal thing.

Id consider Vanillary from lush. Thats got decent longevity
Ive also recently got www.thebodyshop.com/en-gb/fragrance/eau-de-toilette/indian-night-jasmine-eau-de-toilette/p/1077758 which is not bad lasting for an EDT and Im a bit obsessed with the scent.

My longest lasting perfumes though are anything by tom ford - I have santa blush and Vanille Fatale, and also Vivienne Westwood Boudoir. I think theyre not that young though. Tom ford tabac vanille would be a young one i think, but its too sweet for me, but it definitely lasts as i couldnt seem to get it off.
