Is your bra size usually in stock?

I've just come back from a shopping trip, including looking at bras in M&S, and virtually none of my preferred styles were available in my size (32F). They make them in that size, but were out of stock. And it got me to thinking that this is nearly always the case when I go bra shopping - the two places I go are M&S and John Lewis on Oxford Street, London, so main branches. I generally have to make do with a style that's not what I really wanted, or fudge it with a 34E.
Is it an oversight by the stores or is it a statistical/perception thing?
Does anyone else find this with other sizes?

No. I looked in M&S and they had nothing, not even online. I complained to the assistant.

ChristinaRussell · 26/10/2021 16:06

I was going to say the same thing - most shops don't stock those sizes because the way they measure, no one would ever be the size.

That's really interesting - I've never heard of that before.

@TangledUp789

George have loads of bras in 32F, I actually noticed some reduced ones when I was shopping in Asda yesterday (the one perk of being a less common size is that you can sometimes find a super cheap bra in the final reductions of the sale). I’m a 30H and they even sell a couple in my size, which surprised me.

I predict that in two or three years everyone will be using the Boob Or Bust method and a 32F or 30H will be available in every shop.

My nearest George is miles away, but I'll bear it in mind in case I'm ever up that way.

I rarely find my size in other shops now that Debenhams has shut down.

If you're already in Oxford Street, Bravissimo's only a couple of minutes walk from John Lewis.

AnUnlikelyCombination · 26/10/2021 16:22

Only at Bravissimo.

Dd currently measuring 26D, which just isn’t made as far as I can tell. I looked at M&S’s Angel range in my local store, there was nothing smaller than a 32. Which would fall off her.

KatharinaRosalie · 26/10/2021 18:23

I don't even try brick and mortar shops except for Bravissimo. Have been told that this size does not exist and/or it's not possible I'm a 30G and don't I want to check out some nice 34DDs instead?

Lookingoutside · 26/10/2021 18:29

Hi OP. I had a measuring appointment at M&S and also Boux Avenue just to make sure. Neither ever has my size so I shop online now I know my size.

Bra Stop and Bravissimo are excellent and returns are easy. Bra Stop particularly good for sales.

OhGingleBells · 26/10/2021 18:48

30D - hardly ever! Rarely see anything in a 30 band and when they are there, usually in smaller cup sizes! I imagine a 28DD would be a better fit but don’t have a hope in hell of finding that in shops! And I love shopping Sad

Ughmaybenot · 26/10/2021 18:50

32GG… it’s like finding a unicorn 😂

mynameisnotkate · 26/10/2021 18:53

I never look anywhere but Bravissimo, they are the only people have a decent range of sizes. I’m 28F. Most places don’t go below a 32. It’s actually infuriating. But thank god for Bravissimo.

shakingmytambourineatyou · 26/10/2021 18:57

Just checked George per pp. They have nothing unusual on their website. Certainly nothing for me.

Einszwei · 26/10/2021 18:59

28F - I nearly always have to buy online.

stalkersaga · 26/10/2021 19:04

I'm a 28F, so. No.

I always buy online anyway. Partly as I no longer wear underwires.

PressingTeams · 26/10/2021 19:05

Believe it or not, Asda is always good for 32F!

MintyGreenDream · 26/10/2021 19:10

I'm a 32F op and bravissimo are very good

HundredMilesAnHour · 26/10/2021 19:12

No sign of any 36D sports bras in M&S today grrr.

PermanentTemporary · 26/10/2021 19:13

Mine is always in. I'm a 40C, occasionally a 38C. I think I actually am the shape that M&S believe women are - huge barrel chest with smallish breasts perched wide apart on top.

BusySittingDown · 26/10/2021 19:16

I'm a 30DD which doesn't seem to exist in the shops! I always have to go for a 32C unless I shop online.

PiesNotGuys · 26/10/2021 19:22

I was in m and s trying to get some new ones last week and they had a 2 for £18 offer I couldn’t use as they only had one dubious green one in my size (30E/32DD) All the D+ cups were on 36+ backs

Metropolismoon · 26/10/2021 20:03

I bought a 32F online at M&S today. It was in store a few days ago but I didn’t buy it at the time. I’d love to be able to wear one of their bra tops though. Only trouble is that to get a good fit in the bust you have to buy a size medium which is more of a 34. The difficulty seems to be finding a small band with a larger cup size.

whatisthisinhere · 26/10/2021 20:08

I've remeasured recently using boob or bust method, and I'm a 28GG, never finding that size.

LilyTheMink · 26/10/2021 20:58

I buy Fantasie bras from John Lewis online - order a variety of sizes either side of what I think I am and send back the ones that don't fit

Simples.

Littleguggi · 26/10/2021 21:03

30E here and it's near to impossible to find my size!

Shopgirl1 · 26/10/2021 21:14

34D…never used to be a problem, but lately it’s been a struggle.

Pootle40 · 26/10/2021 21:40

34F often out of stock
