Is Piglet in the Bed bedding worth the money?

Just that really. I really like this one www.pigletinbed.com/products/forest-green-bedtime-bundle?variant=39254292693090 but is it worth the cost? Up to now I’ve never spent more than £70 on bedding.

Thanks

I've never bought bedding from there to be honest the price does put me off ,but it is beautiful.

SameToo · 24/10/2021 19:22

@Inthesameboatatmo it looks so nice!

No way

RJnomore1 · 24/10/2021 19:41

That looks horrible

So scruffy!

Cottagepieandpeas · 24/10/2021 19:44

Love that colour

3WildOnes · 24/10/2021 19:46

I think soak and sleep do lovely linen bedding for slightly cheaper.

3WildOnes · 24/10/2021 19:47

I personally prefer Egyptian cotton 600 thread count.

Haggisfish3 · 24/10/2021 19:47

Fuck that! It’s fabulous marketing to turn the crumpled look into something appealing’Grin I’m sure it is lovely and soft but I got really lovely bedding that does the same from homesense.

Tibtab · 24/10/2021 19:48

Thought it would be £150ish but that is an insane price for what looks like very plain sheets

SmaugMum · 24/10/2021 19:53

I love French linen bedding, but I buy my sets from Soak&Sleep in the annual 40 per cent off Black Friday sale. I’m a Times newspaper subscriber and they’re currently running a 25 per cent off Piglet in Bed offer for subscription members. I’ll happily message you the code if you would like it. I’ve just treated my mum to a pair of Piglet pyjamas for a special birthday (I pushed the boat out as we lost my dad in June and her physical health has declined since) and I have to say that the quality of the linen is magnificent.

For me, the beauty of linen is that you don’t have to iron it, as (to my possibly very niche eye) it looks just as great crumpled as pressed. It’s cool in summer but cosy in winter and only gets comfier and softer the more you wash and use it.

fuckyourpronouns · 24/10/2021 20:01

This looks awful!!!!!!

ToManderleyAgain · 24/10/2021 20:13

I bought the Piglet pillowcases and they have lasted much better than the linen bedding we bought from Loaf. However I’ve never had linen that gets better with age and mine always becomes stiff and slightly scratchy… are we doomed to this no matter what linen we buy because we live in a hard water area I wonder?! As with PPs, I love the crumpled look of linen, whereas crumpled cotton just looks like it could do with an iron Smile

SameToo · 24/10/2021 20:23

@SmaugMum that’s very kind of you to offer. I will have a look at soak and sleep I think. It is A LOT for a bed set as you all say.

I was going to recommend Soak & Sleep’s linen, OP. Great choice. Linen is a particular look which (evidently) isn’t for everyone but I absolutely adore it.

TuftyRusty · 24/10/2021 23:33

I’ve got two Piglet in Bed bed sets. They’re both a couple of years old and look good as new - so soft, warm in winter and cool in summer. Prefer them to cotton! I’ve got a few sets of the PJs too. And you can choose to iron them, obviously, if you don’t like the crumpled look Wink

hellololabells2019 · 25/10/2021 19:58

We have had Soak and Sleep linen for four years. The seams have started to split on two of the items. Surely that isn't normal?

ThanksItHasPockets · 25/10/2021 20:21

Definitely not. Mine is older than that with no problems. Maybe get in touch with customer services.

Duchess379 · 25/10/2021 20:23

That is a crazy amount of money to spend in bedding! 😳

TuftyRusty · 25/10/2021 20:30

@Duchess379

That is a crazy amount of money to spend in bedding! 😳
But so worth it when it lasts years - sometimes cheaper stuff is a false economy!
Duchess379 · 25/10/2021 20:50

I buy Egyptian cotton sheets that last an age. I totally get it though - you pay for good quality products. Still, my eyes did water at the price! 😆

Chakraleaf · 26/10/2021 08:09

I thought NEXT £75 ones was bad and I got them in the sale!

BaggingAria · 26/10/2021 09:28

I've been eyeing Piglet in Bed too, wondering if it was worth the £££ step up from Soak and Sleep - we've got a beautiful S&S French linen duvet cover but like most S&S duvet covers it has that envelope/tie fastening which ime means that the duvet shuffles around inside and has to be rejiggled every other day. And one of the ties has come off.

I give mine a cursory iron, mainly to get the aforementioned envelope bit flat enough to hold the duvet in place, but it does look fine crumples and does the cool in summer/cosy in winter thing perfectly.

ExConstance · 26/10/2021 09:39

I have linen on our bed. I have one set that was Hobbs home that I bought on ebay and a second set that came from Ikea which was just £70 for the duvet cover and 4 pillowcases, kingsize. I replace our towels and duvet covers etc. by buying bits here and there, especially in the sale. I have a new soak and sleep white cover waiting to go on when needed, can't remember what I paid but I've opended the packets and quality is excellent.

Has anyone bought from Secret Linen Store? They have 15% off at the moment and have a normal button fastening at the foot.
