Is Piglet in the Bed bedding worth the money?

Just that really. I really like this one www.pigletinbed.com/products/forest-green-bedtime-bundle?variant=39254292693090 but is it worth the cost? Up to now I’ve never spent more than £70 on bedding.

Thanks

I got gorgeous 100% linen bedding from Ikea which has softened nicely and is my absolute favourite bedding. It's actually quite cosy too. I love the colour of the set you bought @SameToo I think ikea have an indigo colour that I might treat myself to.

I have linen sheets, I think they are absolutely worth spending money on. But I always buy cotton duvet covers, its not against my skin, the sheet is, so I wouldn't spend extra buying linen covers. The difference in cost between good quality cotton and nice quality linen duvet covers isn't justified to me.

Interesting to see people recommending Soak and Sleep. I've had terrible customer service from them, and ended up with a kind size duvet with just one matching pillow case. No refund, just money off if I bought there again. I won't. Also the bedding looked tatty within weeks and developed holes very quickly.

La Redoute do good linen bedding.

Since we bought linen we barely use our cotton bedding. It's cool in the summer and warm in the winter and it doesn't wrap around you and cling like cotton does. It also washes better and doesn't go dingy. I don't think it has to be Piglet though, we have some from Soak and Sleep which seems the same to me and they often have sales and discount codes. If you want to try Piglet wait for a sale, they do 20% off codes pretty frequently.
I'm in London (moderately hard water), have had linen bedding for a few years, no issue with the texture changing over time.

MenimeMay · 26/10/2021 13:09

I am not convinced any bedding is worth that amount

Have any of the linen fans tried hemp bedding? S&S sell it but I have never felt it in real life.

Carboncheque · 26/10/2021 15:50

I’ve bought linen bedding from LaRedoute’s AM.PM range after a recommendation on here. I also got a combined discount of 30% so it worked out well. Since I’ve tried linen there’s no way I’m going back to cotton.

Wouldn't linen be crunchy to sleep in ! And you would have to iron it every time ! 🙈

It's more textured than cotton but not crunchy. It would be more of a jump if you were used to poly cotton, I suppose. You don't iron it; that's the whole point.

Hmm, same for me @Standstheclockattentothree 🤔 our fitted sheet developed a hole within a few months where our feet rested - it was never tumble dried, so no reason for it to be particularly weak. Customer service was pretty poor and it really put me off S&S tbh.

I really like the look of Piglet but always baulk at the price! I quite fancy the look of Secret Linen Store when I have the money.

SameToo · 26/10/2021 18:49

I’ll see what these ones are like when they arrive but there are some great suggestions on here for alternatives. Thank you all.

Coming on to say I thought I had linen duvet covers but they are actually washed cotton - beautifully soft and much cheaper than linen

Bleddyansum · 26/10/2021 19:19

This is weird, I have just been looking at their website for first time today - never heard of them before.

Googled linen PJs as DH bought some a couple of Christmases ago, and mine came up. Checked tag and he got from there. They are so comfy and keep me cool, so decided to look at bedding too.

Can vouch for quality, if I take the plunge they would be ironed for sure (and I know that’s very unmumsnetty)!

H&M do a set a lot cheaper £80, my local have PJs so off to check tomorrow to see how quality compares

gunnersgold · 26/10/2021 19:26

I guess each to their own .. be boring if we liked the same things , looks scratchy though . 😬

steelseries · 27/10/2021 18:17

@Standstheclockattentothree do you have any La Redoute linen bedding? I was just about to buy some but the reviews said the sizing is all very big?

WowIlikereallyhateyou · 27/10/2021 18:24

I would invest in something really special like yves delorme, which although expensive lasts for ever and feels amazing. Sorry but i think the piglet stuff looks awful.

No sorry, just their normal cotton bedding.

mazylou · 28/10/2021 09:27

We have several sets from the Secret Linen Store, and they're lovely. My adult daughter also adores them, and is hinting for Christmas.

SameToo · 28/10/2021 17:56

Oh no @WowIlikereallyhateyou don’t send me after something more expensive Grin If it lasts though it’s worth it isn’t it.

Absolutely, eight years and still going strong and they are the softest things you will ever sleep on. An investment though.

Homesense had some heavily discounted Yves Delorme in today, albeit from the frillier end of their range.
