Will I look stupid wearing this in the office?

I don't really have any workwear. Wear jeans and t shirts a lot, boho type dresses when i want to wear dresses. Love my DM's.

Want to look nice in the office this week. Would this dress with my DM's and a black leather biker look stupid?

It's not really a workwear kind of office. Big office with lots of people in normal times. Quite casual or wear what you want type think, think academia, not corporate at all.

I want to look nice and feel good.

I can’t see why you’d look stupid?

minipie · 12/10/2021 18:13

Looks good to me

KimDeals · 12/10/2021 18:13

Oooh love it

bonfireheart · 12/10/2021 18:14

That's nice OP.

TertiusLydgate · 12/10/2021 18:14

Can’t see what’s stupid about that?

Hoppinggreen · 12/10/2021 18:14

You would both look nice and feel good

AdoptedBumpkin · 12/10/2021 18:14

Looks nice.

MushMonster · 12/10/2021 18:16

I like it! Lots

WrapAroundYourDreams · 12/10/2021 18:16

Stupid was a really bad choice of words Grin

Overly dressy would have been better! I'm thinking with the DM's it would be ok?

I like the dress to a degree, but I think it would very much depend on your body type as to whether it looks good/appropriate. The satin aspect of it is debatable, too.

goose1964 · 12/10/2021 18:17

It's a gorgeous dress it would be great if you're going out straight from work as you could could easily dress it up.

That was my thought, it being a satin slip... but it's really not a corporate type office. If anything more people would be in jeans but I'm so sick of jeans!

I'm 5ft4, a size 10, little bit curvier than usual atm. I'm not like the model!

That's what I'm taking about. Satin is totally unforgiving. It will show every lump and bump. If you're fine with that, definitely get it.

WrapAroundYourDreams · 12/10/2021 18:21

@Aquamarine1029 I was planning on Spanx! Wink

I fancy a colleague and want to look nice basically.

I think that would look really cool but seems like a going out to a bar kind of outfit tbh!

Oooh, tell us more

flippertyop · 12/10/2021 18:23

Looks fabulous

WrapAroundYourDreams · 12/10/2021 18:23

@Hoppinggreen he is so so lush and we're both single but I doubt he'd ever consider me and he's probably too sensible to get involved with someone at work.

Still want to look nice though!

That is absolutely not a going to a bar outfit. I dress like that all the time for work I might actually buy that ha ha

Amrapaali · 12/10/2021 18:26

Ooh go you Grin Bit dressy I would say

I'm sure there are other midi dresses which are a in a more umm.. staid material but which still show your curves? Finery London had some nice bright ones that stood out. This deep burgundy and satin gives off dinner date vibes I'm afraid

WrapAroundYourDreams · 12/10/2021 18:27

Hmmm... my biggest concern is that I'll probably splash water all over it when I wash my hands and then look a right scruff in front of him.

It's a lovely dress but it's a long time for a clumsy oaf like me to wear it without trashing it... maybe back to the drawing board

Palavah · 12/10/2021 18:28

I'm too clumsy for a satin skirt in the office but this with DMs would look great. You can wear a slip underneath it.

BellaVita · 12/10/2021 18:29

I would go for it! Love the dress and it will look great with DM’s.

You only live once! Live life on the edge 😆

YellowandGreenToBeSeen · 12/10/2021 18:32

I work in an environment where you can wear what you like. I would definitely wear that to work on a day I wanted to look good. I probably wouldn’t wear it with DM’s but would wear it with boots similar to the model (I have some).

Think I’m going to buy it!

WrapAroundYourDreams · 12/10/2021 18:33

I'm in the office two days this week...

So basically I need two amazing outfits...

Other outfit is a shorter boho floaty thing with big sleeves with slouchy suede boots. Think Stevie Nicks, which is basically my aim in life tbh.

Better not post in case any female colleagues are reading although think I've already blown it if they are 😂
