Well a sort of wedding, actual wedding was family only, celebration/reception is this weekend.

I've put on weight recently so am hating how I look atm, but got this dress and really like thr fit, its flattering where it needs to be and im really comfortable in it. But worried its a bit too white...?

If im honest I'll probably wear it anyway, as i have no other options and its tomorrow, but curious to know what people would think if you saw someone wearing this at a wedding/whether you would wear it yourself...?

It is lovely, but a little too white in my head.

SW1amp · 07/10/2021 15:25

If you have to ask if it’s appropriate, the answer is nearly always ‘no’

MissShapesMissStakes · 07/10/2021 15:26

I think it's lovely for a wedding.

If you wanted to you could wear a blue (or whatever colour goes) cardi, scarf etc to keep warm and take away from the white even more?

Radlib · 07/10/2021 15:33

It's absolutely fine OP, there is heaps of blue on it. It's a blue and white floral dress, not a white dress. It doesn't look remotely bridal, and it's lovely. Wear it, feel fabulous, and have a great time x

Whitechocpizza · 07/10/2021 15:35

Lovely. I'd wear it.

whoknew23 · 07/10/2021 15:36

too much white

jpbee · 07/10/2021 15:36

I'd wear it, I wore something similar for a wedding before which had a white background but floral in colours over the top. As the bride I wouldn't have had any issue with someone wearing this.

howdidigettobe50something · 07/10/2021 15:37

I think it's lovely! Go for it!

Twattergy · 07/10/2021 15:37

It's fine just don't have white accessories.

gogohm · 07/10/2021 15:38

It's fine, plenty of colour

Einszwei · 07/10/2021 15:38

I would have no problem with a guest wearing this at my wedding.

ShuddaBeenMe · 07/10/2021 15:38

Probably too white but just use dark accessories.

BrownEyedSquirrel · 07/10/2021 15:40

I think it's fab and with the right accessories wouldn't be an issue

Cruiser11 · 07/10/2021 15:40

Like others have said, don’t wear white accessories and it will be ok.

ChatterMonkey · 07/10/2021 15:47

Aw im so glad people generally think its ok! Was so relieved to find something comfortable that I still feel glam in, rather than the frump friend, but didnt want to cause any bad feeling to the bride, or be talked about by the other guests.

Based on the response here, there might be a few people there that think its too white, but hopefuly not enough that it becomes a talking point behind my back!

No problem at all. Looks perfect to me. If you are self-conscious about it being 'too white' (I wouldn't be) then you can as pp say, accessorise it with dark items.

MiddlesexGirl · 07/10/2021 15:51

PS. It's a really lovely dress too.

Anonymouslyposting · 07/10/2021 16:00

It’s lovely - I’d wear it to a wedding, as others have said maybe go with blue accessories/cardigan to bring out the blue rather than the white.

Hopeitsallok · 07/10/2021 20:47

Gorgeous- I’d wear this to a wedding 😊

TolkiensFallow · 07/10/2021 20:53

It’s fine, navy accessories needed!

MintyGreenDream · 07/10/2021 20:54

QueenBee52 · 07/10/2021 20:55

Chloemol · 07/10/2021 20:59

GreyhoundG1rl · 07/10/2021 21:03

I'd say it's fine.
