Anyone seen a nice winter dressing gown?

I’m due any day now and fancied getting a nice new dressing gown for night feeds etc but can’t find anything I like!

I want something warm and cosy but not hugely bulky in a dark colour but ideally not black. Possibly with a hood, or at least with the ability to pull the chest area across. I like it to come more or less to the ankles (I’m
5ft 3). Has anyone seen anything that fits the bill?!

Budget ideally around £50 but I could stretch it for the right thing.

Boux Avenue have some nice cosey looking ones .

This was probably the closest I’ve found but I saw it in real life and the colour is nothing like the picture, it’s a horrible pink.

Material wise I’d l prefer velour but am open to suggestions apart from towelling.

Tk max is worth a try.

Thanks, I looked the other day and they all seemed short or light coloured (it will be coffee stained within a week!), I’ll check again though.

That’s lovely, do you think yak wool would be comfortable on the skin if I wasn’t wearing anything underneath?

I’ve got a beautiful cashmere mix one but hardly wear it as I don’t like it unless I’m wearing long sleeves under.

Is there anything you like on the John Lewis site?

This one is the closest but I’m not sure that it wouldn’t be a bit thin. For that price I’d want it to be perfect 😆 www.johnlewis.com/british-boxers-brushed-cotton-dressing-gown/p5773136

I saw this in Asda the other day. It's quite nice in person. I've just got a velvet green etsy one, but would have got this if I hadn't already ordered it.

Franklin12 · 06/10/2021 15:08

The M and S Rosie one comes in mid grey which is more practical. Why are there so many white dressing gowns? So impractial and towelling can get very rough. Give me a velour one any day (and in a dark colour!)

whitershadeofpale · 06/10/2021 16:08

Yep I completely agree! I probably will go with the Rosie one, was just hoping there was something better lurking out there!

I have a white company one which is jersey outer, fleece inner and I love it
They have one in their sale currently in light grey for £42

girlmom21 · 06/10/2021 16:16

I bought a lovely Eeyore one in Asda a few weeks ago for £22 as a gift. Really thick and fluffy.

whitershadeofpale · 06/10/2021 16:57

Ooh that looks nice!

doesn't it. I have a lovely floor length navy one from joules, but it's not on the website anymore, that one looks similar. so cosy, I love putting it on in the morning

Toastfiendish · 06/10/2021 20:20

I have the Rosie one from last year, it's dark purple. I bought it for exactly the same reason as you - was pregnant, it got used a LOT with a newborn in Winter! It's very comfy and warm.

XingMing · 06/10/2021 21:00

I saw one, but sadly it was £650, which didn't fit my budget.

poohaloo · 06/10/2021 21:09

Ooh I bough a white company one
Still have it 5 years later
Loved it so cosy washes very well

ThankYouDebbie · 07/10/2021 05:10

Thanks @PeakyPaula.. I've just crossed at least one person off my Xmas present list (plus obviously now want one for myself Grin)

DGFB · 07/10/2021 07:11

White a company do navy hooded towelling gowns. They last years so worth every penny

I think I will go for a White Company one but I really don’t like towelling. We don’t have a tumble dryer and I find they go rough quite quickly without one.

They also have the Rosie in charcoal , I have a previous incarnation and it's going strong at least 5 years later. www.marksandspencer.com/rosie-fleece-dressing-gown/p/clp60502487?color=DARKGREY

Cyberjammies!

whitershadeofpale · 07/10/2021 12:29

I have some lovely PJs from there but none of the dressing gowns are calling to me. All a big thin or Christmassy/ granny-ish. They might have something new soon.
