Thanks royal style fans for the thread title!
We need banquets, some diplomatic visits and more weddings. Oh and more of gorgeous Charles (you know the one I mean!)

@paradyning

Some hat on the lady in pink! Guessing the bride is Scottish then
You wouldn't want to be sitting behind her in the cathedral, that's for sure.

The story about the groom's father getting in a punch-up over a non-existent throne sounds familiar...🤔

paradyning · 26/09/2021 21:54

The punch up!

The other guy's wife is the 'princess' that was in the Monaco documentary if any of you saw it. She was judging a yachting competition

KillingMeDeftly · 26/09/2021 22:20

Blimey and at Felipe and Letizia's wedding, no less! Not sure either of the guys were the father of the groom at the recent wedding though?

Best line of the piece: "the Duke was twice punched in the mouth and would have fallen to the ground had he not been caught by deposed Queen Anne-Marie of Greece."

MotherofPearl · 26/09/2021 22:37

Goodness! Talk about a royal knock-out!

When I hear about bad royal behaviour I invariably think of Prince Ernst of Hanover, who has certainly been in a few compromising situations over the years. I see he was involved in an altercation with the police earlier this year, and has taken out a lawsuit against his son for "acting ungratefully." Grin

TracyBeakerSoYeah · 26/09/2021 22:42

Sometimes I think some of these royals think that they're still living in the 18th/19th centuries!

@Maireas I'm working on your request re the ochre skirt & green dress but have been a bit busy lately!

KillingMeDeftly · 26/09/2021 22:46

Not only that @MotherofPearl but if the U.K. had had the same Salic Law that Hanover did then Ernst would be our king!

TracyBeakerSoYeah · 26/09/2021 22:47

Well thank goodness we don't have Salic Law!

TracyBeakerSoYeah · 26/09/2021 22:52

I love that Kinsky Honeysuckle Tiara.
I'd wear that as my daytime Tiara & The Stuart Tiara as my evening one Grin

Maireas · 27/09/2021 08:32

Tiara preferences noted, Tracy ✔️
Ernst of Hanover sounds like a peach. You're right about Salic Law.
That's a lovely line caught by deposed Queen Anne Marie of Greece

2 x pics from the wedding of Princess Marie Astrid of Liechtenstein. Interesting guest looks. Gloriously happy bride. Could be your mate’s wedding and they’re having the cheesy pics after dinner.

CPV meeting president of Estonia Kersti Kaljulaid. I like neither of these dresses. There’s a touch of HMQ meeting Margaret Thatcher about them.

Thanks, CliffsofMohair - lovely wedding pics. Where's little Charles, though? His mum and dad look nice. Very happy bride and friends.
Yes, I can't quite work out what's wrong with CPV and President Kaljulaid...smart and functional but not very stylish, maybe?

KillingMeDeftly · 27/09/2021 17:50

Perhaps the Liechtenstein wedding was a child-free affair and Stephanie has already posted in AIBU to complain!

KillingMeDeftly · 27/09/2021 17:51

Guillaume always looks so jolly and affable, doesn't he?

Serenster · 27/09/2021 19:40

I normally like CPV’s floral midaxi dresses, but that one is just a little bit too aggressively floral and too buttoned up, I think.

I like the bride’s relatively simple dress very much, the tiara and her smile are definitely the stars of the show.

Not so much style, but I was admiring Princess Anne, who spent the weekend staying on a Royal Navy ship while it took place in exercises. She looks really good in all uniforms, never mind just the fancy dress ones!

No-one wears a black military outfit better than Anne.

I bet the seating plan for the wedding breakfast at the Lichtenstein marriage was a work of art!

I’m not keen on any of the outfits of the guests I’ve seen, I think the dress code must have been “Office Christmas Party 1970”.

CliffsofMohair · 27/09/2021 20:43

@KillingMeDeftly

Guillaume always looks so jolly and affable, doesn't he?
He does but if you told me he was a distant cousin of Nigel Farage I wouldn’t be surprised
KillingMeDeftly · 27/09/2021 21:02

Hah he does! And his dad looks like a cross between old Nige and the guy from The Thorn Birds.

MotherofPearl · 27/09/2021 22:43

Love that photo of Princess Anne!

Not keen on any of those wedding guest outfits, nor CPV's floral number.

I do however absolutely love this polka-dot Armani dress of Leti's. It falls beautifully.

I am not a fringe fan so I'm afraid must veto this Valentino dress of Max's, but who could resist her beaming face (and giant diamond earrings)?!

So what do we think Kate will go for at the Bond premiere tonight? A new gown or a rewear?

RomainingCalm · 28/09/2021 16:31

I am really, really hoping for a new gown but I suspect it might be a rewear.

Maireas · 28/09/2021 16:43

Thanks, MoP - Max looks lovely. The earrings, wowsers! Leti has a few polka dot dresses, kind of classic, but always pretty.
I was impressed that Maxima had been to the UN at the weekend and discussed financial insecurities of nations with the DG. She'd written a report, I think she has a background in finances. I'm not sure if she hung around for the Global Citizen concert.

Serenster · 28/09/2021 16:47

I am crossing my fingers that she had a gown ready to go for a state visit that never happened, or similar, and that she really wants to wear…

Maireas · 28/09/2021 16:54

I'd love her to wear a tiara...but she won't Sad

AdaColeman · 28/09/2021 17:04

I hope Kate doesn't wear anything in wishy washy colours.
