back to the office backpacks?

going back to our London office (feeling like the first day of school) and need a new backpack. I have a bad back and need to carry my laptop so it has to be a backpack really. I am in my early 40s so need something stylish but practical. What is everyone else using these days?

Following for ideas. I’m in the office two days a week now and then travel to meetings around London another day and my back is killing me lugging around my laptop in my Neverfull.

I have had a couple of mock leather handbag/rucksacks off amazon. But thats because I can't bring myself to spend the same amount on a handbag as a car....

I love my Rains backpack. It's waterproof and smart and goes with lots of outfits.

Anything goes. Seriously. I have been commuting throughout and watching bags. As more people got on trains again they gradually converted to backpacks from handbags (presumably for laptops). There is everything from Kate spade to Cath kidston to mountain warehouse.

I always just used a Decathlon cheapie - one of the ones little kids use on school trips. Needs to be as light as possible.

I’ve just got a really nice radley one. There is a zip part at the back that fits my laptop in and then the main section for purse, note books lunch etc. Really pleased with it.

I’ve been looking for stylish backpacks recently and Mia Tui is recommended loads. I’ve just ordered the Emily in petrol blue, probably too small for you but looks like Maya fits a laptop. Some beautiful colours and quality is meant to be really good.

I say stylish. I don’t really know what’s stylish these days. I mean something that’s more like a handbag style backpack than a sports/hiking backpack.

Knomo do some lovely ones, I got DD one for Uni, really good quality.

Hardly the height of fashion but I have an Anello backpack (wouldn't try to fit a laptop larger than 13") and a Burton Tinder backpack and both have worn quite well. The Burton fairs better in wet weather.

I love my Dahlia backpack from Lawful London, it’s the perfect size and comfy. It’s not a typical bulky sports backpack - so lovely for work. I actually copied a lady in the office who kindly told me where she got it from 🙈

I have a Gaston Luga backpack and love it!

It's really stylist and spacious whilst still being sleek.

Not a high-fashion product but my daughter gets lots of compliments on this one that I ordered on Amazon for her. She commutes long distances and has a back problem and this is super light whilst being roomy enough for a 15 inch laptop plus notebooks etc. Also waterproof.

No particular help re bags but I've always had to cart a laptop around and if you can have a charger at home and one at the office, it's amazing how much lighter your bag seems without it.
