A question, I think waist belts are going to be the next big thing again, and have been looking out for the right one

AnnaDyne · 13/09/2021 19:41

I'm also hankering after the entire Sezane autumn collection. So far I've bought some Blundstone boots and some monkstrap shoes from Toast.

Plus some Cos black jeans.

I really like this Toast coat too

MorrisZapp · 13/09/2021 19:45

I bought this fab tank top at Asda! It's much softer and comfier than it looks in the pic, will be so perfect over a white long sleeve t-shirt.

Plus assorted cosy grey high neck jumpers - every time I buy one I see an even softer one on my next shopping trip!

They do that coat every year in a slightly different shade - I tried it on last year and it was lovely - I just don't have occasion to wear a wool coat in the winter., and that one needs wearing - dog walking is hazardous and always involves unruly beasts enthusiastically jumping up to say hello...and I avoid dry cleaning like the plague. My blundstone boots are perfect even after 6 years of abuse - they just look better! I love the Hereu Alber Sport Loafers I just can't justify the price.
Bakingtraypan · 13/09/2021 19:51

Just said yes to a navy cashmere hoody and a moss coloured crew neck cashmere from the men's dept in H&M.

BestIsWest · 13/09/2021 19:58

Remus and @bookish83 yes I think Seasalt will be the answer. The length of the Coverack looks perfect. I really like the oak colour but can’t wear it since I’ve gone grey. Quite like the nickel one. I do have a hankering for something in red though (too many grey coats already) .
I think I’m going to have to visit a real life shop.

I e bought these boots in purple, which I am SO THRILLED WITH, but my post about them killed another thread, so they might be a bit old lady (which I am Grin)

I haven't bought anything, boohoo, but I have had breast surgery and am waiting for the scars to stop hurting before I start trying anything on. Right now I seem to have to get the "girls" out naked every two days, and while they look awesome/are being much admired, I'd like them to feel normal again. Nothing above the waist here.

RoseMartha · 13/09/2021 21:07

Nothing yet
Except I did buy a dress in the sale about a month ago from last years collections. Black and coral colour.

missfliss · 13/09/2021 21:17

I have been a bit spendy...

Biggest item is new boots - fleece lined Chelsea boots from Fairfax & Favor ( Boudicas)

Rainbow stripe chunky long cardigan on order from hush

Black chunky cropped cardigan ( also hush)

New midi skirt in soft jersey / animal print

Inthesameboatatmo · 13/09/2021 21:50

@pinkcattydude.

Oooo thanks I’ll have a look

I've bought some high waisted stretch flare jeans. Mom jeans don't suit my shape (make me look bulky) so I started wearing an old pair of low rise flared dkny jeans but I embarrassed the dcs because my 'butt crack' was on display every time I bent down Blush, so I thought it was time to invest in some high waisters from ASOS (collusion). Impressed with the fit and comfort so far.

ZealAndArdour · 14/09/2021 08:59

@AlphaJura

Ohhh, I love flares. I’ve been loving an old pair of extreme flared black jeans just lately. They just look so good with a nice chunky leather belt and a skinny fit t-shirt and some converse or vans.

Ninkanink · 14/09/2021 09:18

This thread is v. v. BAD for me!

Autumn/winter is my most favourite season for fashion and this thread has convinced me that I need to relax my no-spend policy for a little while...just to get a few choice items.

The F&F Boudicas are on my list. Plus two wool/merino dresses, a chunky jumper, and one pair of flares. Also lusting after a khaki/olive trench coat or lighter wool coat. Didn’t get a new scarf last year so would love a cashmere one this year, plus another hat and a new pair of gloves. Ideally I’ll get a waxed coat in the Barbour Jan sale as well but I may have to forego that as Christmas tends to eat all my disposable money...

Ninkanink · 14/09/2021 09:23

@Inthesameboatatmo could I ask, what’s the sizing like at White stuff? I’ve seen a dress I like but I’m not familiar with the brand. Does it compare to M&S sizing or is it on the smaller side? TIA 🌸

AlphaJura · 14/09/2021 09:32

@ZealAndArdour I've always loved flares, I like chunky shoes too! And seeing as skinny jeans are out, I resurrected them and dd said they were on trend (it's just the waistband that was the problem on the old ones!) I find them comfortable and flattering. Yours sound nice, I wouldn't mind a black pair.

Inthesameboatatmo · 14/09/2021 09:46

@Ninkanink.
I've found the sizing to be ok actually but I usually go a size up in jumpers regardless of where I buy them.
I've found m&s sizing to be ok and the white stuff I would say on me is true to size.

Ninkanink · 14/09/2021 09:49

@Inthesameboatatmo thanks! So if I am a size 10 in M&S would you say a size 10 at White Stuff would probably fit?

Inthesameboatatmo · 14/09/2021 09:52

@Ninkanink.
Yes I would say so ,I'm a size 16 and I've never had a problem with white stuff or m&s sizing, I've just got massive boobs that's why I go up a size in tops but the waist size fits me fine in jeans or leggings and such.

squashyhat · 14/09/2021 09:57

I have just received the new Joe Browns catalogue. I have decided to limit myself to one dress and one tunic. But they have some beautiful boots...

ReluctantEarlyRiser · 14/09/2021 09:59

Omg never heard of Mabel Shepherd but I'm definitely adding a pair to my Xmas list!

I've been hankering after a pair of Moshulu boots but instead bought a pair of Oxygen lace ups as they were half the price. May regret that.

I've been trying to only buy second hand clothes but lapsed when Emily and Fin had their sample sale. So now I've spent all my money on summer dresses. Ooops.

I do have my eye on a navy wool coat on Vinted and I'd quite like some flared jeans but memories of rising damp on my legs is putting me off.

Ninkanink · 14/09/2021 10:00

@Inthesameboatatmo thank you!

Inthesameboatatmo · 14/09/2021 10:01

@Ninkanink.
