Saggy eyes...best eyeliner??

gettingolderbutcooler · 09/09/2021 22:28

I've got an old and saggy face with old saggy eyelids. 😳
I've been so boring all my life with my make up and I'd like to get a really smudge proof eyeliner - liquid or powder or stick. Something to smokify my eyes (patent pending on that word!!!). But all of the ones I've used seem to just get rubbed off super fast.
Any suggestions? Xx

Following - I also have an old saggy face and old saggy eyelids Grin

You need urban decay eyeshadow primer, it makes anything you put on stick.

Kabloom · 10/09/2021 07:32

Liquid eyeliner stays but I think it can look harsh on a ‘blurry’ face. I use a flat eyeliner brush with eyeshadow. Wet stays longer. Also once read not to put mascara or liner under the eyes and I think that helps as I’ve got past 50.

I've tried liquid on base of top lashes- it's off within hours!! 😞

I use urban decay primer, stila stay all day eyeliner just on the corners then smudge it a little with some eyeshadow where the eyeliner is. It seems to stay and my eyelids are almost hanging in my eyes! I also have a lash lift and tint which makes my saggy eyes look slightly better

catinboots21 · 10/09/2021 20:15

Maybe line gel liner in the pot with the brush.

catinboots21 · 10/09/2021 20:16

Maybelline

Fingermoose · 10/09/2021 20:17

I use nyx liquid eyeliner and it doesn't budge. I have the double whammy saggy eyes and oily skin but it does work. I've not tried their smudgable stuff though.

Cheesewiz · 10/09/2021 20:30

You can also try fixing/ finishing spray, the nyx one is excellent

Silverswirl · 10/09/2021 20:42

I have always had one very over hanging hooded eyelid.
I use Bobby brown eyeliner in a pot with a flat eyeliner brush.
It stays on well

gettingolderbutcooler · 10/09/2021 20:44

I've never heard of eye primer, fixer OR eyeliner in a pot.
I've been living under a rock!

I've got Semi Permanent eyeliner tattoo, game changer

RonaldMcDonald · 11/09/2021 01:33

Can I add the Kat Von D one does not stay on as promised
I had such high hopes
Agree that the UD primer is key

gettingolderbutcooler · 11/09/2021 07:31

Thank you. Good suggestions! X

I agree liquid eyeliner often doesn't work very well on crepey/saggy eyes as the canvas you're drawing.on isn't smooth so it can look jumpy and harsh. Flicks are particularly tricky. A pencil or pot is softer but imo don't last as long. I've given up and only line the top waterline to give a bit of definition.

SirChenjins · 11/09/2021 10:10

This stuff does not budge on my saggy eyelids - I no longer have to use primer which suits me down to the ground as I’m usually in a rush

Didiusfalco · 11/09/2021 10:11

You need kiko intense colour lasting eyeliner. It’s brilliant and cheap! If you’re at the age/stage where things are sagging (as am I) liquid could look harsh and a bit witchy.

Tinkerbellfluffyboots79 · 11/09/2021 10:35

I have hooded eyelids and they are quite crepey, I use either Bobbi brown gel liner pots and a brush but I tend to go smokey over harsh lines as it looks better on me and only a very subtle flick if at all. I’ll also use dark eyeshadows to line my eye, Or benefit matte roller pen in brown is good. Use decent primer - elf do a good one or urban decay, I have a too faced one at the moment I quite like. I feel setting spray doesn’t make much difference to my eye make up.

gettingolderbutcooler · 11/09/2021 18:58

Looks like the urban decay primer is a defo.
And maybe some b brown shades- they look nice. And a liner.
For Christmas! Yay! Something I really, properly, actually want!
Cheers everyone xx

Oh tell me more about that please odds

OddsNSodsBitsNBobs · 17/09/2021 10:46

@MrsKeats, sorry I didn't see your reply!

I had semi permanent eyeliner applied at the beginning of the year by a very talented abdcqualified aesthetics nurse. It involved an initial appointment and then a top up 5 weeks later. It's basically a tattoo but fades overtime so its not forever. I had top and bottom lash lines done and it cost £200 in total and should last 3-5 years. My eyes are now always made up and no my running or smudging!

MrsKeats · 17/09/2021 10:50

That's brill odds
I think I am going to go for it.

What colour did you have? I’ve known a few women that had black and it looked great at first but then faded and a blue pigment developed and didn’t suit them and looked awful.

I would consider a dark brown but then would worry that might fade to red or orange!

OddsNSodsBitsNBobs · 20/09/2021 21:51

@Mariell, I went for black but yes there is a choice of colours. Originally I was going to have charcoal but was told that fades quicker. Mine has not faded at all after 6 months, if it does start to I'll go for a top up.
