Never seen the Phaedra website. All the things are sold out. What a pain. Far too much hard work to buy something.

faustina · 16/10/2021 21:12

I liked several of the websites in that interesting selection - thanks to the person who linked to it!

CatherineCawood · 16/10/2021 21:22

T'was I!

Laska2Meryls · 17/10/2021 11:49

@neveradullmoment99

I try and grunge it up!
And me...! I like to go for Scandi cool...as I think it suits me ( and my Danish reles do it so well!, I can get some real style leads) But I more often look like old mad woman ! DH doesn't really go for my look, especially clumpy boots and shoes but he accepts that its 'me'...and he likes me!

I’ve finally moved house and have no internet. Have to be in someone else’s house or marks and Spencer to get online. Not sure how long this will continue.
Have moved into autumn. The cord skirt will get lots of wear, very comfortable although I feel I’ve reverted to myself circa 1994 in it.
Top is random long sleeve T-shirt from sale, wasn’t called a Francis but feels like it. I am slightly out of love with the boat neck in green although I love the colour, hate the 3/4 sleeves.
Off to read through as much of thread as possible to catch up.

iguanadonna · 19/10/2021 14:26

Love the skirt @Countmeout

faustina · 19/10/2021 14:41

Those colours look great together @Countmeout - is that the needlecord yoke skirt?

congratulations on your house move!

So as discussed earlier in the thread, @ilovecherries and I have set up a private Facebook group - it's for swapping/selling and all things Toast related. It's private because again, as discussed, we would rather sell or swap things to likeminded people who are going to wear them, not sell them on at inflated prices

It's a 'secret' group so we have to invite you. If you want to join, please message either me or ilovecherries and we will send you an invitation if you're a regular user of the toast threads.

AmethystMoonShine · 19/10/2021 18:05

Thank you @faustina and @ilovecherries Flowers

ToastCosILoveIt · 19/10/2021 18:15

Echoing thanks to @faustina and @ilovecherries, really looking forward to the Facebook group.

I am on holiday this week somewhere hot and I am flying the Toast flag. Today it was the blue Tala dress and yesterday it was the cross hatch dress. I travelled over here in the decorative floral crepe dress which garnered a compliment from a stranger at Heathrow who said she loved the pattern. I realise that half of my packing is Toast dresses.

I am enjoying seeing the photos of you all modelling your Toast purchases.

We had such a shit summer here I don't think anyone had enough opportunities to wear lovely dresses - very envious of your hot holiday @ToastCosILoveIt

ilovecherries · 19/10/2021 18:55

I haven’t really got over my Oxford shirt dress in burgundy and a woman telling her little girl that I was a nun!

Saurus72 · 19/10/2021 19:11

Message sent to you @faustina - our own private Toast Circle sounds great to me 😎

NoCureForLove · 19/10/2021 19:27

Brilliant. And exciting! Thanks for setting this up...

TheChattyRat · 19/10/2021 19:57

Sadly I won't be joining you as I don't do Facebook - even with a fake profile Sad but I think it is a good idea. Hope you have fun but don't forget this thread

faustina · 19/10/2021 20:00

@ilovecherries - no really??? I can't work out how anyone could think that was a nun outfit!

@TheChattyRat - I'm, so sorry you won't be joining us - do message if you change your mind

ilovecherries · 19/10/2021 20:03

@ilovecherries - no really??? I can't work out how anyone could think that was a nun outfit!

Well I suppose I was looking my best. Completely bald and no makeup and striding along the beach wearing trainers. The little girl actually said something like ‘that lady isn’t very pretty’ and her mum said ‘sshhh. She’s a nun’.

Gonegrey31 · 20/10/2021 12:08

I'm not on Facebook so can't join in the Toasties chat but wanted to add my comments on two recent purchases:

the Needlecord Shirt dress, bought in colour Golden Syrup - its lovely, I sized down however as it is HUGE. The colour is a rich golden colour. My fashionista daughter (normally a harsh critic) told me to keep the dress because she thinks the colour is so fabulous. Wonderful soft fabric.

the Knitted Dolman Sleeve Coat - a beautiful dark blue, not itchy but simply far too big on me (size S). Swamped me (I'm 5ft 5 ins, usually a size S in Toast knitwear). Sadly returned.

I'm going to try out the Toast Circle initiative when I'm in London next week - I have two silk dresses (never worn). Wonder whether they will be accepted as they are some years old but in perfect condition.

Enjoy the Facebook chat!

Saurus72 · 20/10/2021 13:12

@Gonegrey31 2 silk dresses unworn?!? That sounds dreadful, I hope you find something lovely via Toast Circle, it’s such a brilliant idea.

Well, my resolve to not buy any more dresses lasted about a week 🙄. I’m off work for a few days and in Cambridge doing a bit of light shopping. Saw this dress in JL (after really not liking it online - I thought the colours looked washed out and insipid). Well reader, I tried it and knew I had to have it - it’s absolutely beautiful. Now I really need to cut myself off…

@Saurus72 - what a beautiful, unusual print that is! that is my local JL and I always think I"m going to catch something in those changing rooms - they have almost no ventilation! I feel terribly sorry for the assistants who have to work there

@Gonegrey31 - golden syrup is a wonderful colour. I'm trying to sit on my hands right now and not buy anymore dresses t least until I've worn the last one I bought. I tried that knitted coat a few years ago with the same result - it was quite heavy too. I'm sorry you can't make it to the FB group

Saurus72 · 20/10/2021 13:34

@faustina I was pretty hot and bothered tbh, I kept my mask on and it definitely made me want to get outta there as quickly as possible. Mid week shopping though, it’s all very civilised apart from the masks.

Saurus72 · 20/10/2021 13:37

@Gonegrey31 I ordered that knitted coat too but it just didn’t make me joyous, very big and shapeless and also didn’t feel special for the cost. An all around no from me. I’ve spotted this as a potential alternative, although I’m thinking I may wait until I can get to a shop because their returns are a bit of a pain www.massimodutti.com/gb/women/collection/knitwear/view-all-c1925505.html

Mariclaire82 · 20/10/2021 13:47

@Saurus72

The dress looks lovely on you- I ordered this and keep trying it on to find a way to make the top work without displaying too much cleavage, as I really don’t want to have to send it back!

It is such a lovely print and cut- may see if I can find a slip which will work…
