Has anyone tried the Lys floral print shirt? I'm thinking of giving it a go and was wondering about sizing and fit? Any insights much appreciated. I don't know if it is just me but these days I seem to send back about three quarters of what I order so any help to avoid this is welcome. The lady in the Post Office is starting to recognise me!

Laska2Meryls · 13/10/2021 10:21

MrsCat I tried the Lys shirt , it comes up very big also it was a bit shorter on me than I really think works for such a flow-y shape.. I did like the 3/4 sleeves , but the fabric (a cotton lawn) was definitely more summer weight than Autumn.
Expensive for what it was I thought I would think of buying it if it turned up in the sale at half price!

Laska2Meryls · 13/10/2021 10:23

The post office workers all know me well here!
Postman commented to DH a while back ' Oh she does like her Toast, doesnt she?' Blush

I am pleased because I bought a cotton Hemp jacket on ebay this morning! I shall model it when it arrives ..

I wanted a longer line hemp jacket than the current one on Toast and had been looking at the Japanese denim jacket , but the last one of that type I tried was just too heavy and I ended up selling it on ebay

faustina · 13/10/2021 10:54

hahaha - I'm so pleased because I sold the hemp jacket to Laska on eBay this morning - quite by coincidence! This one is nice and light Laska, and I hope it hits the spot for you!

Also pleased because I'm going to pick up the nice-looking corduroy utility jacket by Kin this afternoon, and it will be a sort of direct swap.

Looking forward to seeing you modelling it Laska!

I’ve accidentally bought and sold a couple of things from/to people on this thread as well. I quite like the idea of the circularity of it. Although cutting out the eBay middleman would be good!

Laska2Meryls · 13/10/2021 11:07

Yes,it was a shame that I only realised who was selling after bidding.. Perhaps we should wink at each other on PM when we have stuff up !

faustina · 13/10/2021 11:14

@ilovecherries - it would be a very good idea - not sure how we could make it work though? Like a virtual toast circle I suppose?

AmethystMoonShine · 13/10/2021 11:59

I’ve often wondered if I’ve bought Toast items on eBay from someone on here Grin

ScottishMouse · 13/10/2021 12:15

I have often wondered the same. Surely we could make a virtual Toast circle work?

ScottishMouse · 13/10/2021 12:17

I was just in my local Toast to try on the yellow cardigan in a smaller size (but am keeping the one in the photo in the end), and it was quite busy for a random weds morning. I love when it’s busy as you get to see what other people are trying. There was a lady trying the bud check dress with the jaquard sweater over and it looked great (if you’re here reading this! 🤣)

faustina · 13/10/2021 13:14

Would you want to do it via MN messaging, or more publicly on the group?

I listed a couple of belts the other day which I'm fairly sure I have never used (because I don't do belts) but which are actually really useful if you do wear them, and I wondered about mentioning them on here, but couldn't think how to word it without sounding ... I don't know, like I was trying to turn the thread into a buying and selling thing, because I don't think it should be. hope that all makes sense

faustina · 13/10/2021 13:17

.... also, we all know there are people who buy up Toast things cheap and sell on for quite a lot more as a business thing. I wouldn't really want my things to end up with them as far as I could help it

faustina · 13/10/2021 13:18

That bud check dress is really lovely! Someone tried it on here but it was too big - I hope they ordered a smaller size and kept

Laska2Meryls · 13/10/2021 13:42

How about we say
' I have a list of things I am thinking about ebaying in a weeks time , If you want Pm me and ill send it to you ' ..and include the price we would hope for on ebay and postage and last day before its going up .. i.e not bidding but first dibs before putting up on ebay?

Laska2Meryls · 13/10/2021 13:43

//obviously it would mean that we would privately share our details if someone is interested but then you'd do that on ebay anyway.

faustina · 13/10/2021 14:06

Yes, we could do that. I know there are other long running threads who have a private Facebook group too? It might be easier to post pics on something like that?

ToastCosILoveIt · 13/10/2021 14:09

i think a private facebook page might be the way to go but it will need admin input so more work than Ebay for one/more of us.

ilovecherries · 13/10/2021 14:09

Yeah, the logistics are probably complicated. I’m not sure if MN even allows selling? No idea. Plus many more lurkers than will ever post, so you could find yourself inundated with people wanting to buy who you have never heard of, and then see the stuff on eBay a few days later anyway. Which I know shouldn’t matter - you sell the thing, you no longer own it, but I can imagine I’d end up feeling a bit narked by it.

Laska2Meryls · 13/10/2021 14:12

No, you are right cherries they dont .. back to the drawing board then..

Saurus72 · 13/10/2021 14:22

@faustina yes that was me who tried the bud check dress! It is very big, so I sent it back. I really though I would love it but just wasn’t good for me. I’m not sure I’ll buy any more dresses until I’ve worn the last 2 I’ve bought - still haven’t worn the harlequin dress and I also the decorative floral print dress I bought on Saturday Hmm.

The next things on my list are a couple of cashmere jumpers (JL probably), some tan riding boots and maybe a navy tweed/velvet jacket. Then I think I’ll be done for Autumn. Maybe…

faustina · 13/10/2021 14:36

@Saurus72 - haha - it's always maybe isn't it. They only have very basic colours, but Gap are doing a really lovely cashmere jumper at the moment - it's recycled cashmere and short - so good for high-waisted things

I wouldn't mind sharing the admin on a fb group - I do one for my work which is totally private - you can't even find by name, you can only be invited

ilovecherries · 13/10/2021 15:55

I’m fine with FB, (and will ll to job-share admin for it), but I know lots of people won’t use it.

ilovecherries · 13/10/2021 15:59

I couple of long running threads I was on have moved to whatsapp. It really depends how comfortable people are with sharing a bit of private info. I’m relatively laid back about it as I’m quite boring!

ilovecherries · 13/10/2021 16:12

Well actually I don’t think I’m particularly boring (trying to sell myself here!), I’ve just always been circumspect about social media so there’s nothing on there that I would be embarrassed to be linked to a real me.
