Any beauty experts that can comment on Aldi Lacura range?

I have lots of the Lacura beauty products from Aldi and many of them appear to be copy cat versions of branded items.

Are there any beauty gurus on here that may have compared ingredient lists or perhaps been fortunate enough to have tried and tested both branded versions against the Aldi version?

Would love to hear what you think?

I'm not a beauty expert but have contacts in the field. The Lacura products get rave reviews on here, especially the Caviar range.

Many 'experts' are affiliated with a product, so you would probably not get an unbiased view.

I loved a facial exfoliater that I've never been able to find since .. it was pale pink/ beige smelled nice and quite big grainy bits
Left my skin feeling lovely , not tried any of the others but put off by the irregular supply and inconsistent stock

Divebar2021 · 08/09/2021 10:59

I’m not an expert and have only purchased one product. Its a hot cloth cleanser that is a dupe for Liz Earle. I read an article which was comparing the 2 products which concluded the vast majority of ingredients were the same - there were some differences but not many. I could tell a slight difference and liked it marginally less but only marginally and not enough not to buy it again.

Idyllic · 08/09/2021 11:06

The Pink Clay stuff is great, think it's a dupe for the 'proper' Australian one.
DD has the primer which is apparently just as good as the Smashbox one.

I wish they'd brink back the nail whitening varnish - it's the only one I've tried that actually works.

ILookAtTheFloor · 08/09/2021 11:07

I've bought an Aldi special which was the balm make up remover stuff, it came with a microfiber cloth, I think it's a dupe of Take the Day Off. I absolutely love it, more than the Body Shop dupe of the same product.

I also love the caviar night cream, which isn't a special buy but it's always sold out when I go to buy it! Had to make do with the q10 stuff which is perfectly acceptable.

knackeredcat · 08/09/2021 12:09

I love the Miracle Cream - the dupe of Elizabeth Arden's 8 Hour Cream. I use it on lips, cuticles and even on my feet after I've used a foot file. Great stuff and only £3.99.

FreshFaceTime · 08/09/2021 12:45

I started buying Aldi moisture boost when I saw it earlier in the year and as it had been many, many years since I bought the actual Clinique moisture surge moisturiser, I bought a pot of that too for research purposes. I'm not sure about the exact ingredients as I haven't bothered to read them, but I genuinely can't tell the difference. You can buy 6 pots of the Aldi one for the same price as Clinique.

That stuff is great, especially for dry patches. I also like the hot cloth cleansers almost as much as the Liz Earle ones, and the caviar creams which I believe have been compared with Creme de la Mer? (Never used that, so can't comment!)

The Too Legit Mascara is quite good, I believe it's a dupe for Benefit's They're Real, although I can't really comment on that either as I've never used the Benefit one.

Imtoooldforallthis · 08/09/2021 12:51

I normally use elemis cleansing balm, tried the aldi one and although I will use it up I won't buy again its not a patch on the Elemis one. Agree about the miracle cream though.

idontlikealdi · 08/09/2021 12:52

I was massively allergic, so disappointed.

Oh I was thinking of trying the Clinique version of this and didn't know Aldi did a copy. Is it in all the time?

@Window1 they only do it in their special buy events but I've seen it multiple times this year so it's around quite a bit.

CorrBlimeyGG · 08/09/2021 13:25

@idontlikealdi Which product were you allergic to? It would be very strange if you were allergic to the whole range!

picklemewalnuts · 08/09/2021 13:28

I like the sound of this! I've not bought the expensive versions, but try the dupes they bring out as and when. My skin does seem to be doing well on it all, though that could just be me actually looking after it now!

FreshFaceTime · 08/09/2021 13:30

Oh I've just remembered the rose oil too. I saw it recommended on here so picked one up when I saw it in store. Finished off an Elemis rose oil and followed it immediately with the Aldi one. EXACTLY the same. It feels so, so lovely and is just a fraction of the price. I stocked up next time I saw them.

Window1 · 08/09/2021 14:14

One of the products I really like is the Healthy Glow Toner. It's about £4 but is a copy of Pixi Glow (or something like that), which is about £15 in Boots.

Never tried the original but love the Aldi one all the same.

I have the pineapple serum, the glow toner, the rose oil, a gold and collagen serum, a hyaluronic acid serum...

And only one face to use them on!

ihavespoken · 08/09/2021 14:25

I feel a fraud butting in here as I have no Style (nor Beauty Grin) but I was attracted by "Aldi" in the title.. just checking you all know you can buy Specialbuys online www.aldi.co.uk/c/specialbuys/health-and-beauty

It's great to be able to check online as often they have stuff available that may have sold out in the shop.

I have the collagen serum if it's the retinol and Acacia one.

No idea what it's supposed to do but rub some into my face after toner and before moisturiser each day.

Of course the moisturiser is also Aldi - The Ebony Rose Face Cream in the dark purple tub. I love that one. Supposed to be quite a high end copy. Wouldn't get the chance or probably the inclination to actually compare to the proper stuff.

@ihavespoken thank you soooo much for that !
I've just gone through the selection and ordered at least the next 6 month worth of skincare for £34 - getting free delivery
So pleased with that , thank you again
Never occurred to me to look online , just took my chances when I'm there to find things randomly placed next to some meringue nests or a dog bed 🤣

CookieDoughKid · 08/09/2021 14:38

Definitely not a patch on Elemis Cleansing balm! I won't be buying their cleansers again - too drying.

GrimDamnFanjo · 08/09/2021 15:02

You can check and compare ingredients on websites such as cosdna.com

ILookAtTheFloor · 08/09/2021 15:25

I've just bought two things online now as well!

This is the cleanser I really loved:

If you Google Aldi/Lacura dupes a number of reviews come up.
Here are a few useful ones.

This is an interesting read.

I rate Lacura products - the best I’ve found so far are the Lacura Cleansing Balm, Caviar moisturisers, Jo Malone perfume dupes, and the facial oils and serums. Excellent value and effective.

@givinglessfucksdaily @ILookAtTheFloor glad to be of service!
