I ordered this dress - it looks crazy but actually I'm kind of thinking of keeping it, I got it for £95 so not cheap.. www.stories.com/en_gbp/clothing/dresses/midi-dresses/product.organza-sleeve-silk-midi-dress-black.0958629001.html

It's a stand out dress, I like it but it will probably date quickly, but if you can remove the sleeves when that happens it could be a good buy.

Holidaytan · 03/09/2021 13:24

It’s ridiculous, but by all means, wear it and enjoy.

HollowTalk · 03/09/2021 13:24

I really like it and agree you can cut off the sleeves when you're tired of that look.

Mercurial123 · 03/09/2021 13:26

It certainly makes a statement....

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 03/09/2021 17:23

It's awful, and I say that as somebody who is usually very much in favour of, 'If you like it and can afford it, buy it'. Sorry, but it really is terrible.

PurplePosies · 03/09/2021 17:34

I love it! With a big chunky necklace and heeled boots it will look amazing Smile

dontgobaconmyheart · 04/09/2021 14:14

Where might you wear it?

It would look cool in photos in the editorial sense or on someone who's already quite a quirky and bold dresser and has somewhere suitably cool to wear it but it's difficult to imagine it being wearable for most people. I also think the smocky puff sleeve editorial dress is a bit dated/last year. £95 is still a lot even if it seems a bargain vs the RRP- they obviously weren't selling well at it.

Luckingfovely · 04/09/2021 14:17

I'm all for fabulously expressive clothes, but I really don't think that looks good on the model, let alone on anyone else. Sorry!

Lunificent · 04/09/2021 14:20

It depends what you wear it for. I can’t imagine the occasion, but maybe that’s due to my limited social life. Perhaps for the grand opening of an art exhibition?

BakeOffRewatch · 04/09/2021 14:22

I like it and don’t think it will date, it’s a well structured black dress for occasion wear.

NeverTalkToStrangers · 04/09/2021 14:23

It's amazing but it'll be expensive on a cost per wear basis unless you are actually a Russian assassin.

KittenKong · 04/09/2021 14:25

Sorry... but I’ve just done a clear out for the charity shop and tied up a load of black bin bags.

That’s what it reminds me of...

TabithaTiger · 04/09/2021 14:26

You could keep it for a Halloween party maybe?!

I can't think where else you could possibly wear it, sorry!

Flowers500 · 04/09/2021 14:32

Oh God I'm sorry but that's just hideous

BuffySummersReportingforSanity · 04/09/2021 14:38

I like it! It needs to be accessorised with some serious attitude, and then it's amazing Grin

If you feel good - go for it.

TottiePlantagenet · 04/09/2021 14:49

I love it, hope you will wear it and enjoy it. What kind of do are you going to?

Maybe a chunky necklace and a pair of block heels? I'm sure you'll look amazing.

AnnieSnap · 04/09/2021 14:50

I think it’s rather fabulous. I’d style it with a chunky, striking necklace.

MerryMarigold · 04/09/2021 14:54

Those sleeves would likely cover my hand and further! So I guess it depends on how long your arms are. Great for hiding batwings! If you've tried it and it looks good, go for it. Why not?

TomorrowsPrincess · 04/09/2021 15:00

What in the holy bin bags is that? 😂😂😂

HundredMilesAnHour · 04/09/2021 15:02

the sleeves are very dated, definitely not worth the money

Deux · 04/09/2021 15:06

Keep away from any naked flames.

OwlBasket · 04/09/2021 15:09

It’s fabulous!

Creamcrackersandricecakes · 04/09/2021 15:18

The dress is great, they've totally ruined the look by pairing it with those fugly sandals - eurgh!!! Stick some decent shoes or boots on and it will be fabulous.

BusterGonad · 04/09/2021 15:22

Agreed, the sandals are gross. I don't think I'd wear that dress but I'd look at you in it and think fair play to you for having the confidence to do so. I'd personally wear very feminine shoes (maybe patent heels in a striking colour) with it and keep jewellery to a minimum, but go all out on the makeup.
