I ordered this dress - it looks crazy but actually I'm kind of thinking of keeping it, I got it for £95 so not cheap.. www.stories.com/en_gbp/clothing/dresses/midi-dresses/product.organza-sleeve-silk-midi-dress-black.0958629001.html

I love a big sleeve , sad to see pp saying that's dated now.
The dress is stunning .
Are you reasonably tall ?
It would drown me.

Pieceofpurplesky · 04/09/2021 15:25

My issue is surely you will only get one wear out of it as the dress is about the drama and impact it creates. Unless you have several completely independent friendship groups who like to attend formal functions it is a waste!

SalsaLove · 04/09/2021 15:27

I love it! It has Villanelle vibes.

BusterGonad · 04/09/2021 15:29

Your right Salsa it does!

MiddlesexGirl · 04/09/2021 15:33

Oh I like it. Would look fab with the right kind of styling and the confidence to wear it. Go for it. And maybe indulge us with a photo?

Kithic · 04/09/2021 15:37

I love it!! It would look worse than awful on my shape though 😏

Flowers500 · 04/09/2021 16:11

I like the idea behind the style, I think the problem with that dress is it looks cheap, plasticky and badly designed

Pigtailsandall · 04/09/2021 16:12

It makes me think of that beautifully tall, slender, psychotic assassin in Killing Eve (whose name I can't remember)

Worldgonecrazy · 04/09/2021 16:15

All I can think is whoever designed that dress really really hates women.

Ellllle · 04/09/2021 16:21

@Worldgonecrazy I understand that sort of statement in relation to 5 inch stiletto heels or a pvc micro dress ... but that dress? Why?

Worldgonecrazy · 04/09/2021 16:27

Because it’s ugly and no woman on the planet is going to look good in it. It’s a joke to see how bad and ugly fashion can be at the expense of women,

BuffySummersReportingforSanity · 04/09/2021 16:44

It was designed by a woman: Rejina Pyo. She's into voluminous. rejinapyo.com/collections/dresses/products/gabi-dress-crepe-black
towers14 · 04/09/2021 17:31

Sorry op I laughed when I saw it. It's not what you'd call flattering.

BobbinThreadbare123 · 04/09/2021 17:33

Looks like it needs ironing and will probably stay like that Grin

Justbetweenus · 04/09/2021 17:37

Statement sleeves/cuffs are definitely still a thing. I think if you pulled the sleeves up so the elasticated (?) part is at the elbow and kind of tucked under, it’d look more balanced. But worn with confidence and better footwear, I like it!

Blossomtoes · 04/09/2021 18:02

I love it. It doesn’t need any jewellery, the sleeves do the talking. I can imagine that being my LBD for years.

DuchessMinnie · 04/09/2021 19:40

I love it and think it will look really good if you cut off the sleeves too

Winnebaggo · 09/09/2021 14:08

I sent it back!

It reminds me of the Nights Watch in Game of Thrones! Fight with me brothers!
It’s cool though. It’d be fun to wear!
No idea how to style - it doesn’t need much styling though does it? I mean you don’t need much more than a pair of shoes with an outfit like that!!

MidnightMeltdown · 09/09/2021 23:28

That's a dress that needs to be styled with high heels. The sandals that the model is wearing don't go with it at all and that's what makes it look absolutely dreadful in the full length photos.

SmallPrawnEnergy · 09/09/2021 23:33

@Winnebaggo

I sent it back!
Good! I’m definitely all for wear what you want but seriously, bin bags tied around your arms isn’t a good look on anyone. Those sleeves are not only utterly hideous but seriously impractical, they’ll end up scruffy!
