Is this style of dress outdated?

I have two of these dresses. Used to wear them to work with boots or trainers in the Before Times and now with a return to the office imminent, I'm not sure if it's an outdated style.

Any ideas?

I'm still seeing these in shops...

RussianSpy101 · 03/09/2021 12:24

No, they look lovely. Still very “in”

imstilljenny2 · 03/09/2021 12:25

I don't think it's dated (but I have that dress so I'm probably biased!)

SavageBeauty73 · 03/09/2021 12:27

I have that dress on today!

Hoppinggreen · 03/09/2021 12:29

I have similar and I wear them with ankle boots or trainers
Maybe it’s out dated but I like it

FruityPastille · 03/09/2021 12:33

Where is that from? I want one!

MumDad1958 · 03/09/2021 12:34

Oh I love this dress! This is a timeless style. Can I ask you where you bought it from?

imstilljenny2 · 03/09/2021 12:37

@FruityPastille it's from Hush

KillingMeDeftly · 03/09/2021 13:15

It's 2018/19 Hush @FruityPastille. They don't do the same style anymore but you can sometimes find it on eBay.

Lovely dress, wouldn’t weat it with those boots though.
There is a similar style green dress with snake print in JL this season.

Popitdontstopit · 03/09/2021 13:45

I'm picturing people standing in the office with their leg stuck out like that

Hoppinggreen · 03/09/2021 13:48

It's 2018/19 Hush *@FruityPastille*. They don't do the same style anymore but you can sometimes find it on eBay.
Hush Kensington is similar
Dutchesss · 03/09/2021 13:51

Outdated is a style in itself. Although I don't think this is outdated.

MumDad1958 · 03/09/2021 14:16

Thank you - will look at both ebay & Hush Kensington.

boogiewithasuitcase · 03/09/2021 14:24

I have one with a split skirt like this from Dorothy Perkins. It is v neck not collared though.

WineGetsMeThroughIt · 03/09/2021 15:13

It's a lovely dress! Very fashionable still I think. I consider myself to be quite stylish (not super trendy, but always well put together) and I would wear that.

Maireas · 03/09/2021 15:13

Hello again, Deftly! I think it's a really nice dress, not dated at all. It's a great colour.
Good length and not bodycon, so I'd say very current. It'd look good with boots.

KillingMeDeftly · 03/09/2021 15:16

waves to @Maireas**

Thanks all. I think 18 months of t-shirts and joggers has left me doubting my own sense of style!

Milkbottlelegs · 03/09/2021 15:18

I wore something similar to the office yesterday, but with trainers and leather jacket to make it feel a bit more casual. People are still dressing pretty casual where I am.

Maireas · 03/09/2021 15:20

It has been a strange time! It's sometimes difficult to know if some items still look current. I'm finding the shops uninspiring at the moment, too.

where is the snake print dress on JL?

I was looking at some long line double-breasted blazers in Zara today but I tried one on and thought I looked like a flight attendant!!

The dress is fine, it's the boots that are dated - I honestly can't remember the last time I saw someone in heels, let alone heeled boots, let alone those kind of stretchy sock boots (they blew up in 2016/17, I remember because the first time I saw someone wearing them was a mum on the school run when DS1 went to reception and suddenly they were everywhere).

KillingMeDeftly · 03/09/2021 16:16

Oh I never wore it with boots like that! It was always ankle boots or knee-high non-stretchy boots.

OP posts:
LaBellina · 03/09/2021 16:18

The boots make it look outdated.
It looks fine with trainers.
