Which high street shops do you think offer the best cashmere jumpers?

The premium brands are way beyond the abilities of my purse so I was wondering if there were any standout reccs for some high street brands? M&S, Uniqlo, John Lewis etc.

When you look at the reviews there are a lot of comments along the lines of ‘quality isn’t what it used to be’. So if you bought a cashmere jumper in the last year and it hasn’t bobbled to bits can you please tell me where you bought it?

I think the Boden colours and cuts are nicer than M&S and I have one that’s probably 7 years old and been worn a ton and only now looking a bit worn. They’re more recent ones feel thinner though.

Uniqlo are decent, but quality is less good than formerly. However, I wear mine pretty much daily in winter, so expect to replace one colour in rotation most years. I've just bought one from House of Bruar (because it was the only charcoal v neck I could find, and it was the last in any size). However, I preferred its Uniqlo predecessor's shape. M&S are fine, especially with a staff discount.

Whistles has lasted best, but was around £180 four years ago and worn less during lockdown.

Uniqlo not the same quality as years gone by but definitely still the best budget option. They have some under £60 at the moment.

I concur that M&S is good, not too much bobbling and is keeping its shape. At least the polo necks I bought about 5 years ago. The only quibble I have is that all my M&S cashmere polo necks are made in Madagascar. So, probably sweatshop style production.
