Have you got black “smart” trainers?

I don’t mean really smart but just not converse or something that looks like I should actually be in the gym.
Looking forblack trainers to wear with a dress or black jeans and a shirt / blazer for work. The black equivalent of white Stan smiths I guess (but current).
Any suggestions?

My daughter (16) has Black and green Stan Smiths from a few years ago and try as I might I cannot find them or similar now! My friend has black Veja ones but the price puts me off, she says they are very comfy tho.

I have some black leather Adidas Superstars which I have worn for work occasionally. Bought a few years ago now but something similar may still exist?

Geox has nice smart trainers mostly in black and white. I order them from Yoox usually, they have often nice offers.

I know you said not converse but I have black leather type converse with black laces that look fairly smart

Following with interest - I've found this a very hard thing to find. It's a fine line between cool shoe and looking like you're wearing school plimsolls.

I also have black leather converse that I think look 'smart"

I have an old pair of FitFlop Rally's, black leather with studs, the current Rally's are a bit plainer.

Black Air force 1s by Nike??

I have the black Airforce 1's and they still look smartish after a lot of wearing.

I have black and white Balenciaga runners. They’re more expensive than Adidas etc but they are so smart and go with everything.

Don’t you look like a teenager gong to school in all black Air Force 1’s? That’s what teen dd and all her friends wear.
I’m after black trainers as well but failing to find any that don’t look like ones the kids wear to school.

I have black leather Stan Smiths - they have a wee bit of white at the heel - black leather Adidas Continental 80s, and black and white Veja Esplar. I wear all three to work. (Or did when I went to work rather than my kitchen table.)

I've got black leather hi-top type trainers with black laces that I think look pretty smart.

M&S not all black though

Check out Clarks . I've had 2 pairs of black leather trainers/ shoes which look smart enough for work . I think they are from the "hero" range.

Yep. So far this is my leading contender. Are they cushioned inside? Not too flat like converse?

I’ve got a couple of pairs of trainers from M&S and they seem pretty good quality to me. I’m quite limited on choice though (huge feet!) so am grateful for anything that fits and looks half decent!

I think that some black Vivobarefoots look smart.

I've got black leather Stan Smiths (with a flash of leopard print on the back tab - a bit like the M&S ones linked above), bought several years ago, still wearing regularly.

I have beautiful black leather Adidas Gazelles. Much coveted and searched for. They squeak so much I can't wear them

I have a few black Chanel ones and a pair of Hermes in black too. The Chanel classic runner style is excellent for errands etc if you want to smarten up your look.

@MustDust I had the exact same problem and a friend told me to rub some olive oil on the bits between the tongue and the shoe - problem solved!
